THE KINGS ARMS The Kings Arms was built in 1936 in a traditional 1930s design. It is situated in large landscaped gardens reflecting the local English countryside. The pub originally opened with the objective of providing a range of amenities for the local community including luncheons and teas together with fine ales and refreshments in pleasant comfortable surroundings. Although the pub may have seen many changes over the years we still offer the same comfort and value for money in our current food and drink offers. Our 2 meals at a set price include classics like hand battered fish and chips, rump steak and chips with all the trimmings and New York style chicken. With Sunday roasts all day every Sunday including a ‘go large’ option and midweek grill and curry nights priced to include a drink, our menu offers all your pub favourites and more. You will also find great deals on lagers, spirits and soft drinks. We offer a high standard of customer service and with 7 TV screens we are also very popular for sporting events. So, whether football, cricket or rugby is your passion, you'll find it all at The Kings Arms. We now boasts a fantastic new pizza oven, it’s now easy to grab a slice of the action whilst saving dough, perfect if you’re looking to feed a hungry group! Available to eat in or take-away, every pizza comes with its own performance, as we cook them right in front of you in our lively open kitchen. Join us for a meal at your local John Barras pub and you’ll be greeted with a warm atmosphere, friendly service and an exciting menu packed full of all your pub favourites. So next time you are in Billingham, and looking for great value food and drink every day of the week, we look forward to seeing you

The weather again ravaged the junior section fixtures both at Northfield and away at their respective opponents. Hopefully with a warm, dry and blustery well the pitches will have dried out and let the games go ahead this week end. Our u18’s are performing particularly well, Nick Mathew’s lads are 8 points clear having played more games but it’s points that make prizes and the fixture congestion at the end of the year may take it’s toll on the other teams!! To keep up with what’s going on in the club the January Monthly Newsletter is now out.... Click her to take a look NEWSLETTER The management committee have stepped back in the possible transfer of the campus site to the club due to the initial costs to bring the building up to scratch, we will continue to talk to the council and other interested parties regarding the pitches. As ever we have a contingency plan which is moving along well and we hope to be able to announce some great news in the coming months. WATCH THIS SPACE The Spring fundraiser is a caberet evening featuring Stan Boardman, a comedy group act and a singer... Tickets now on sale and with food included £25 is a snip for a great night If you have a child who would like to attend on of the AC MILAN soccer camp weeks please find the details on our website along with a link to the on-line registration form

2010 / 2011

The Intermediates founded when former U18 manager and BTJFC Secretary Peter Cooper and John Swanson came together to put together an adult team for the junior section. Both agreed that the Teesside league would be a good challenge and both had the same vision, to have a team where the players from the junior section could stay with the club once they had finished their junior football. The first season proved difficult on many levels; 42 players coming and going, organising a strip and pitches and most significantly the devastating death of Peter in October 2010. Ian Murray then the U18 manager joined the management team. A difficult season saw only 1 win in29 games... but the basis of a squad to go into the next season, and true to the philosophy that Peter had held, the majority had been former Junior players. 2011 / 2012 With a core of lads from the previous season and some of Ian's former U18 lads, the season looked to be full of promise, however the step up for the new lads and trying to gel the squads together saw the season start off where it finished the previous season, winless, however the results were encouraging. Once the team had it's first win under it's belt it went on an unbeaten run of 8 games. With the odd win/draw towards the end of the season...the results did not reflect the performances. The team had now started to develop a style of it's own, playing some attractive football, the highlight of the season had to be away to Northallerton Academy 2-0 down at half time, Town outplayed Northallerton to win 3-2 playing some great football, showing great character and both starting and finishing with 10 former Junior players... the foundation well and truly in place. Thanks to the hard work of Ian The team got new strips through a sponsorship agreement with RA DALTON. whose support is still much appreciated.

2012 / 2013

A more settled squad started the season playing a good style of football however a string of long term injuries to key players disrupted the season. Again the squad struggled for points and goals but the last 9 games of the season saw a more settled team start to play the football it promised early on. The highlight being the 2-1 win at Lingdale the first team to defeat champions (1 of only 2 clubs to do it) The season again saw progress both on and off the pitch with the addition to the coaching staff of goalkeeping coach Peter Laverick. The squad has 25 former junior players out of the 32 signed on continuing the philosophy that the team was set up to fulfil 7

2013 / 2014 We started the season at a new ground, Northfield sportsdrome and now have the support of the Whitehouse Pub who provide after match refreshments, Massive thanks !!! Our Football continued to go from the ridiculous to the sublime, some great moves and goals but games where we fell apart in sections of the game and got punished. This will happen with a young team but in the coming season we will look for those players now in their 5th season, even though they are still young, to step up to the plate. The season started off badly with Cooky suffering a double fracture but it did save us 3 points, happily Cooky started training at the end of the season. The emphasis was again on the SQUAD with Muzz starting to work shifts a massive loss for us after his early season form but that is why we needed numbers to turn up to games and training. We did progress off the field and on but again finished bottom ( Billingham Athletic resigning). Lav as leading goal scorer led the line well and finished 2nd highest scorer in Billingham. As a team we need to be more clinical and punish teams mistakes like they punish ours. For the first time we also produced a free match programme and developed to publishing it on-line

2014 / 2105

A NEW NAME‌ BILLINGHAM FC

Now

going into our 5th season we welcomed the 3rd group of young lads to come through from the juniors. Many have had a taste over the last couple of seasons on an ad-hoc basis and we will look to integrate them fully into the squad which I expect to be a little smaller this season but also a season wiser. The season turned out to be more about developments off the field than on. We introduced Beth Pounder to the management team in the closed season. Beth is a qualified Sports Scientist and will deal with players injuries and rehabilitation. Beth is also a former Billingham Junior. We held our 1st Golf day in August and this is now an annual event. We secured funding from the Teesside Philanthropic Society to enable us to buy training/ warm up kit for the whole squad. The press release featured in the Billingham Community News Paper and this led to a further grant from the Billingham Legacy Foundation which has enabled us to buy Rain jackets for the whole squad and 5 sub suits for the lads on the bench match days. Thanks to hard work by Ian Murray we have also retained RA DALTON as a sponsor of a new home kit (in the same style and colours as the juniors) and Klargester as new sponsors of our much needed away kit

On the pitch we continued to try and play a passing game, playing out from the back. After a good pre season we started reasonably well in the league but drawing games we really should have won, these lost points would come back at the end of the season to show in our final position. Our County cup game saw us host Ferryhill and a good performance saw us progress to the 1st round proper for the 1st time (another small landmark) and travel to Murton. A game on reflection we could have won but ended up going down 4-3. The end of the season was scrappy and when the U18’s folded some of the lads joined the squad, maybe a year early having had the past years experience but non the less they were welcomed into the squad.

Staithes Athletic bring up the half way mark in the league programme, now extended to 30 games due to the decision to stay in the single league format. We wish them a warm welcome and extend that to the 3 officials for today’s game; Chris Profitt, Tom Profitt and Stuart Gravenell. Last weeks first half performance was poor but we rallied in the second half and when we got the ball down we played some nice stuff, arguably our 2 goals were the best of the 9 on the day. We play good football , we are a decent passing side and we create some good chances BUT we must realise that as a squad we need to do the dirty stuff... DEFENDING as well if we are going to progress and get anything from games. This comes down to cutting out individual errors but in the main it is concentration when we don’t have the ball. I have to mention again like I have on so many times previously how much I admire the lads who keep turning out to play football despite our results... It shows that they are there for the football and craick not just the winning! Again we look to have good numbers and quite a strong line up which will again give the management team the hard decision of which players receive the nod and not just telling everyone to get stripped..... Once again fellas..Great attitude ! Half way through the season and I have started to look to next season and what will be best for our squad. The u18’s will be looking to go to the u23 DFARFYA league and hopefully this will help the before the step into our squad, although some could make the step now another couple of seasons will benefit them and our squad. We also welcome back Ian Murray to the home dug out!

Lower Back Exercise Programmes (part 2) As well as these programmes the most important exercise of all is working on your posture!!! In everything you do, it is easier said than done but working on how you sit at work, taking regular breaks walking around if you have an office job, the way you sit at home, you’re driving sitting position! Initial Exercise Program

Straight Leg Raises

Table amended after the resignation of Middleton Rangers, Cargo Fleet & Billingham Synthonia.

This season following the merging of the two divisions every team will play each other once. The division will then split in two, the bottom 9 will then play in their own division and the top 9 in theirs. The team finishing in the bottom 9 cannot finish higher than 10th despite the number of points they attain by the end of the season.

THIS HAS NOW BEEN CHANGED TO A SINGLE DIVISION FORMAT
