Monika Fischbein was born in Budapest in 1977. She moved to the London at the age of 19. After years of being involved in the fashion industry in UK and Europe, she relocated to Devon and completed her undergraduate studies in photography, turning professional in 2005. In order to progress her work to a more conceptual level, she went on to become a postgraduate student at Central Saint Martins College of Art & Design, where her ideas in narrative based photography were successfully advanced and cultivated. After graduating from the University of the Arts London, she has returned to teaching photography as well as working on both personal and commissioned projects.
