Shawnee Tomorrow Leadership membership
Shawnee Tomorrow is a community leadership development program founded in 1989 by the Shawnee Chamber of Commerce. The goal is to continuously develop individuals with the willingness, desire and capabilities to assume leadership roles within the Shawnee community, Johnson County and the state of Kansas and beyond. Shawnee Tomorrow is a leadership training program that is designed to equip a select group of individuals who live or work within the Shawnee area with leadership tools and an understanding of the issues facing the area. The program consists of eight sessions, each devoted to a specific theme affecting our community. Upon completion of the program, participants will have had the opportunity to gain in-depth knowledge of the community and the critical issues. Over 325 individuals have graduated from the program with many serving the community in various elected positions in the city, county and state, as well as serving on boards and appointed committees within the community.
Ambassadors Ambassadors are dedicated to active participation in Shawnee Chamber events and programs. Ambassadors serve as hosts for luncheons, facilitate networking, coffees and ribbon cuttings of the Chamber along with providing support to the staff. Ambassadors serve as the active communication link to cultivate and promote a positive relationship between the Chamber members, the City and the community at large.
Ambassador of the Year An outstanding individual within the Ambassador Committee was honored each year through 2007. Beginning in 2007, the award expanded beyond individuals serving on the Ambassador Committee to include all outstanding Chamber volunteers and is now called the Chamber Star Award.
