Scenic Overlook at Tuttle Creek State Park: Enjoy breathtaking views of the Tuttle Creek Reservoir and the surrounding Flint Hills from this popular overlook. Kansas State University Campus: Take a stroll around the K-State campus, where you can appreciate the classic VISITMANHATTANKS.ORG

collegiate architecture and the scenic beauty of the campus gardens. •

Konza Prairie: Hike the Konza Prairie trails to experience sweeping vistas of the tallgrass prairie, complete with rolling hills and native wildlife.

Off-road vehicle (ORV) enthusiasts have access to several nearby trails and parks, including Tuttle Creek ORV Park, where they can enjoy thrilling adventures through rugged terrain and scenic landscapes. Be sure to follow local regulations and safety guidelines for a safe and enjoyable experience.

PADDLE PARADISE Whether you enjoy kayaking, canoeing or stand up paddling, Manhattan has several options for you. For experienced paddlers head out on the Kansas River. Manhattan has two access points for the river about 2 miles apart. Tuttle Creek offers two paddling options, for novice paddlers opt for Tuttle Creek River Pond, for more experienced paddlers find several spots along Tuttle Creek Lake to paddle. Pottawatomie County State Lake 2 is also a great spot for a relaxing paddle.

Warner Memorial Park

Half a dozen trail options exist within the Washington Marlatt Park off Seth Child Road. The grassy terrain and different trail lengths make this a great stop for all levels.

This scenic trail runs alongside the Kansas River and is a popular spot for dog walking. It provides a peaceful escape from the city and offers beautiful river views.

A number of trails exist within the large 82-acre Warner Park, including a trail known as “Eight Weeks Trail” and a trail that matches the path of a Fort Riley-Fort Leavenworth trail used by the U.S. Cavalry.

FORT RILEY

Only eight miles west of Manhattan on K-18 is the home of the Big Red One, Fort Riley. Founded in 1852, the Fort Riley Army post was originally established to protect settlers on the Oregon and Santa Fe Trails. Today, Fort Riley is home to the 1st Infantry Division. The reservation covers more than 100,000 acres and spans both Riley and Geary counties. Historic points of interest, on post are open to the public with possession of a visitors pass, including the newly remodeled U.S. Cavalry Museum, 1st Infantry Division Museum and Custer House.

NATIVE STONE SCENIC BYWAY

Majestic stretch of road updated to include Manhattan and regional landmarks such as Konza Prairie, Pillsbury Crossing/Deep Creek and K-177 scenic vista. The byway features abundant natural limestone formations and historic stone fences, barns, buildings and bridges.

ATTRACTIONS LESS THAN 30 MINUTES AWAY Oz Museum in Wamego Visit the largest private collection of Wizard of Oz artifacts. Over 2,000 artifacts are on display.

Alma Creamery in Alma Offering a large variety of cheeses made locally with milk supplied from a local dairy.

Fancy Creek in Randolph Fancy Creek hike is a 5.8-mile loop trail located near Randolph that features a lake, dense cedar forest, and open native grassland. MCCAIN AUDITORIUM

Home to the McCain Performance Series, this 1,751-seat auditorium hosts legendary musicians, Broadway musicals and dazzling entertainers. Want to catch a show while you’re in town? Visit mccain.k-state.edu to view this year’s lineup and purchase tickets.

BEACH MUSEUM OF ART The Marianna Kistler Beach Museum of Art opened in 1996 and features art by local, state, regional and nationally renowned artists of different disciplines. In addition to rotating exhibits, the museum hosts the university’s permanent art collection of more than 6,500 pieces. The museum offers free admission and accepts donations.

K-STATE STUDENT UNION

Need a bite to eat? Head to JP’s Union Station in the K-State Student Union. While there you can also stock up on your Wildcat gear at the official university bookstore or enjoy a round at the Wabash Cannon Bowl, the Union’s bowling center.

THE GARDENS

The Kansas State University Gardens are horticulture display gardens that serve as an educational resource and learning laboratory for K-State students and the visiting public. Work is underway on a new reflecting pool, and the Gardens themselves are a popular spot for wedding day events and other festivities.

No visit to K-State is complete without experiencing the game day atmosphere found in the beautiful and modern facilities that support the university’s Division 1 athletics programs. Morgan Family Arena, Tointon Family Stadium, Buser Family Park, Bramlage Coliseum and Bill Snyder Family Stadium are the state-of-theart complexes that house K-State’s storied athletic teams.

Affectionately known as “The Bill,” the stadium was originally named KSU Stadium but was renamed for legendary head football coach Bill Snyder. The 50,000-seat stadium has undergone several renovations since its opening in 1968. Its features include the Vanier Family Football Complex, the Shamrock Zone and the West Stadium Center.

K-State’s very own “Octagon of Doom,” the coliseum seats 11,500 people for basketball games and slightly more for concerts. Built in 1988, the coliseum is home to the men’s and women’s basketball teams and has proudly carried on the tradition of a loud, proud and winning arena that was first established by Nichols Gymnasium and Ahearn Field House.

Student Tip Be sure to arrive to the game early and stay in your seat at halftime to watch the “Pride of Wildcat Land” perform.

TAILGATING

AGGIEVILLE

The tailgating atmosphere before K-State football games is second to none! Fans enjoy pregame fun around the stadium playing corn hole, grilling and getting ready to cheer on the Wildcats. Parking lots open five hours before announced kickoff time. Stadium gates open two hours before kickoff.

Before and after the game, Aggieville is where Wildcats gather. Located next to K-State's campus, it has more than 100 shops, restaurants and hangouts. Home to the annual Homecoming Parade, throngs of visitors come to Aggieville to celebrate their alma mater.
