Editor’s Note... Greetings everyone, I recall the time when I first started Style Kingdom. I fondly remember many thinking it was a joke, for a nobody in Second Life® to run a magazine. To date, I have been threatened countless times to stop what I’m doing by cowards on alts, spoken of by 2-faced people spreading malicious lies and rumours. It was a tough journey indeed. However I would like to thank all these people for doing that. It was through all these actions that made me determined to continue Style Kingdom and to give my very BEST effort in this virtual world hobby of mine. November 2013, being Style Kingdom’s 1st year anniversary, I am very grateful to a lot of people and would like to take this time to thank everyone who has set aside time to work with me. The photographers, for their magic in delivering such awesome photos. My management team, for constantly keeping an eye on things, attending meetings and even judging castings with me. My group of official models, for constantly trying your best to participate in things and giving your best working attitude. My Second Life® family Rico, Edi, Jade, Kiana, Ellie, Amita and Lou Lou for being there for me whenever I needed a listening ear or to destress. My best friends Absi, Ivoni and Pam for being the people you guys are. To our readers who have shown love, loyalty and support to Style Kingdom. To date, our main vols have 3000 or more reads and our first mini special which we released without any teasers (it meant to be a surprise) hit over 1500 reads. Sinontherock, Female Model of the Month Howdy Y’all! Woah out of my breath! Why? I just got done talking with sinontherocks Resident and heard all the ins and outs of her busy schedule! I will now share with you what I know about her. But I warn you that you may be extremely tired after reading this article!

SB: What are your favorite stores?
sinontherocks Resident: Well. I got started in modeling very early. Before I was 2 months old I knew I wanted to be an SL model, and so I enrolled in a modeling school. At first I thought I wanted to do beauty pageants so I asked Anna Sapphire if she would mentor me and teach me. Luckily, she did! (I’ve been a thorn in her side ever since :P) From there I went to various schools and picked up odd jobs, small fashion shows. :) SB: And now you’re a model of the month! What advice would you give to new models? SR: My advice is the simplest advice, however can be the hardest at the same time. I encourage models to be themselves, and create their avatar however they wish to be. Because honestly? If you’re a great model, you’ ll rock a crooked, broken nose in six places, succulent lips, narrow eyes, square jaws, big ears, what have you. I encourage new

I looooooove to decorate and create little decor projects for myself. ^.^ I also like to spend quality time with my family playing tron, going to live music, or just sitting around goofing off on skype. Recently I’ve found a new passion of mine, and that’s bringing awareness to several campaigns
in SL, so I will be dedicating more of time to helping others and making SL a better place. Well, at least trying. :P SB: What campaigns? SR: This month I am working with a great group of people for a campaign called Stand Tall. It’s mission is to enlighten our virtual community about bullying from cyber bullying to physical bullying, and to hopefully show a united front in a positive and peaceful manner :) I will be helping set up another fundraiser and campaign in December 2013, however I can’t share specifics about it yet! Paradox Messmer, Male model of the Month Hello everybody! I’m Sooooo excited to share with you this Ah-mazing interview! Who was the lucky victim..I mean person that I got to speak with? None other than Paradox Messmer! So without adieu, here’s the 411 on this incredible model! sarahelisebeth Brenham: I’m a big fan of your work, how did you get started in modeling? Paradox Messmer: Thank you so much! I got started shortly after I graduated from Miss Virtual World Academy back in October of last year. Then I casted for a show and I landed it, it was for PosESioN poses with designs by Gizza and Bubble’s Designs which as you can imagine was extremely thrilling for me and a big break to catch right away. I consider myself very fortunate to have started with such top designers. SB: Wow! You seemed to have risen to startdom very quickly. Did you experience any issues? PM: Well no one can be 100% perfect when they first start, I’m humble enough to admit that I made a few mistakes here and there on the runway and I had to tweak my shape some more for modeling certain designs. I’ve learned a lot about modeling from the experiences I’ve had and feel confident now in my abilities to rock a catwalk or print ad by just being the best stylist and model I can be, and absolutely importantly, being a total perfectionist with the choice of poses. SB: You are an inspiration to male models everywhere, what advice would you give to them? PM: My advice would be to not be afraid of being different and
looking different from a lot of male models. Presenting a unique look and fashion style is very important, and you can learn a lot from studying RL fashion and even paintings to understand composition because fashion is an art form and it’s a great tool for expressing your personality and capturing moods. Also, most importantly, don’t get a big head or inflated sense of importance. Be friendly, down to earth as a person but *fierce* when you’re out on the runway, and it helps keep you from being a man-diva when you’re able to quote the movies Zoolander or Bruno at the drop of a hat. SB: What is your definition of fierce? PM: Fierce is being confident in yourself and showing it without coming off totally full of yourself or cocky. Fierce is having an edge, an attitude when you strut your stuff in a show, a feeling you give off of *commanding* the stage with your presence, or an ad or magazine spread. It’s standing out in a group, it’s being bold and innovative and true to yourself. SB: What is the most embarrassing thing that ever happened to you during your modeling career thus far? PM: Oh haha, that would have to be when I came out onto the runway on the wrong cue. It was supposed to be model ahead of me but he was having some technical issue and couldn’t get out there and I went ahead in his place mistakenly thinking it was my turn. What’s worse is I stayed out there for 2 stops before realising what had gone wrong. Oy vey. I’ve laughed about it since. SB: giggles PM: yeah, what a dork right?
PM: I’ve done worse SB: What activities do you do outside of modeling? PM: In SL? I blog fashion a lot, doing reviews for designers and covering fashion fairs and events. I also DJ around the indie and alternative music club scene, and I explore interesting sims and virtual art installations, usually with my lovely partner. And then of course, there’s the shopping. Hardcore shopaholic, me, completely beyond helping. SB: Let’s turn the tables around for this last question. Ask me one! PM: Oh fun! Ok...well what is fashion to you? Does it play an important part in your life? SB: Fashion to me is being comfortable in what you’re wearing yet trendy. Being a model in SL, i breathe fashion. PM: Yes, fashion is as much a part of me as my very blood, that’s how I feel too. It’s an important expression of who I am, as I’m sure it is for many, models or not. Lynn Wlyder, DJ of the Month Hey everybody! You know I’m in such a good mood today. Do you know why? My favorite song came on the radio as I was driving to the store. Wouldn’t it be fun if we could be around our favorite music all the time? I got the opportunity to talk with someone that does! Lynn Wylder has been a DJ in Second Life for four years and was happy to share her experiences with me! Oh and she gave me permission to share them with you! Read on. sarahelisebeth Brenham: I understand that you’re a DJ for Abrosia. What has been your experience been like working there? Lynn Wylder: Working for AEG has allowed me to hone my DJ skills and also has given me certain entertainment freedoms. I love AEG, and I will continue working there throughout my SL. SB: It must have given you the opportunity to meet many different types of people.
LW: Oh yes. You see, I DJ for selfish reasons. Making people smile, laugh, and forget the stress of RL for a while makes ME feel good. SB: What kind of music do you spin? LW: Ahh, I spin it all :) SB: What activities do you enjoy doing outside of DJIng? LW: DJing is my SL, really. When I’m not on mic, I’m working on ideas for an AEG Event. Angel Edenflower, Event Organizer of the Month I just love to shop, don’t you? But isn’t it frustrating when you have to travel to each of your favorite stores? Well boys and girls a solution has been found. Angel01 Edenflower began her career in SL as a designer and quickly found out that it’s difficult to get people to visit your store; Ms. Edenflower came up with an idea. She dreamed up a place where shops can put out some of their merchandise for sale. This concept gave stores a chance to be publicized and people the opportunity to shop at their favorite shops more easily. I sat down with Ms. Endenflower to learn more about this establishment. sarahelisebeth Brenham: Can you please describe what Room69 is?
AE: Well, I was a designers myself but I found it very hard to get “known” advertising isn’t easy there are alot of stores out there. So I quit designing and my store but I was still passionate about designing and fashion. Then one day I thought to myself I should help the new stores to get publicity...and so it started I invited some stores who were in need of some publicity and so other stores came to join. Everyday we are growing, designers & bloggers. I love doing it. SB: What type of clothing did you make? AE: Womens clothing & accesories, sometimes males clothes too. SB: What other activities do you enjoy doing in SL?
Angel01 Edenflower: [ Room69 ] is a monthly circular event ment to showcase some of Second Life’s top creators & items all in one room with a max price of 69L.
AE: Mostly I go to clubs with friends or just hang out if I’m not busy with Room69...it’s alot of work sometimes but I really don’t mind.

Phil Kearny, Club Owner of the Month I love going to a place that has good people and good music. Locations like this are hard to keep running at its optimal best. I was introduced to a guy who owls four clubs! Intrigued, i asked how he got ownership of these places and how he manages them all. Here is what he shared with me. sarahelisebeth Brenham: What is the AEG group? Phil Kearny: The Ambrosia Entertainment Group (AEG) is one of Second Life’s largest entertainment groups. Home to four dance clubs, designer retail outlets and gaming rooms; AEG has provided a total entertainment experience in world for the avatar about town since 2006. Renowned for hosting spectacular themed events and fashion shows; AEG runs a dedicated staff of over 300 people working together to create a unique atmosphere that simulates real clubbing. . AEG management focuses on recruiting, developing, and retaining quality team members; some who have been with us since 2006. Our retail arm is managed by an experienced sales and marketing executive who works closely with the retailers to showcase their products in sponsored, themed events and works to promoting new retailer lines via social media streams to a dedicated Ambrosia Fashion Group.
Every year the four clubs of AEG attract approximately 2 million visits making us amongst Second Life’s most visited venues. Being able to recreate my real life club experience and bringing it to people in the virtual world has been a real joy for me. Seeing others immersed in the experience and helping staffers to build confidence in their entertainment skillset has been truly rewarding. SB: What was your experience like working in a offline club? PK: anaging and working in real clubs has taught me how to create a realistic experience for people in Second Life. SB: What activities do you enjoy outside managing your business? PK: Kayaking, writing, bicycling, mountain climbing, skiing, reading and boating. Introduction to Dreams Way Fundraiser The Sojourner, along with a few friends, started Dreams in 2005 on the main land of SL. The following year Dreams was given its own private sim. Soj, as her friends called her, wanted to accomplish a number of Dreams: to provide a base for creative interaction among people in SL, to provide an area for teaching, holding discussions, and hold events, and to provide a support base for stroke survivors.
The Sojourner’s real life person, Karen Gans, passed in May of 2008. Her husband asked me, Golda Stein, and my daughter, Dorie Bernstein to carry on the work that was started.
She knew that not everyone dreams the same. Some people need a bit of isolation, others need to play off of each other. Dreams is here to provide that variety. Most of all, it is here to provide support, learning, and fun.
Shockproof, though the first, is our least active support group. But, a few of the members do participate in the other events held at Dreams. The leader is Kelyren Benior, who is a stroke survivor.
The main group at Dreams is the Dream Travelers. Besides being encouraged to follow their own dreams, they are the activity base for the support groups. The first group was Shockproof, a group of stroke-survivors, family members and others interested in stroke/brain attacks. The next group was the Brigadoon Explorers who are individuals who have or are interested in Asperger Syndrome and autism.
Since that time we have been carrying on her vision. I have been told that no one expected Dreams to last more than a year or maybe two. We have kept the program going for 5 years.
Brigadoon Explorers, the Asperger’s/autistic group, meets weekly for an informal discussion. Ariel Miranda is the group leader. The number varies from week to week. There are a few who show up every week and more that comes when things are bothering them. It isn’t a therapy session, but a support session. Not all of the Asperger’s/autistics who hang out at Dreams goes to the meetings but prefer to quietly, and not so quietly, do their thing. We work hard at keeping an atmosphere that permits them to be accepted and part of the community. Some of the members also participate in the
other events at Dreams. There are those who prefer that no one knows that they are on the spectrum and we do respect that. Our newest support group, started by Sophia Krell is ADD/ ADHD Support 2.0. The group meets weekly for an informal discussion. Some of the members also participate in other Dreams activities. It is interesting to note that there are members that are also in the Brigadoon Explorers group. Some autistics are also ADHD. And, there seems to be a grey area where it is either Asperger’s or ADHD. Dream Travelers provide the structure and support for the other groups. Dreams has a sandbox which is open to the general population. Our rules are strict but it is necessary to make things welcoming to our support group members. Our main activities are our building contests. We have a weekly texture contest and a weekly speed build contest. These are free. We also have a monthly build contest. We have found that the few months we don’t sponsor a contest, our donations drop drastically. Members from our various support groups participate and are often winners.
