Al Wakra Hotel & Resort THE PROJECT | AL WAKRA VILLAGE RESORT Al Wakra Hotelâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s project site is located within the boundaries of Al Wakra Heritage Village in the Al Wakra district. This Hotel is a renovation for part of the heritage houses of Al Wakra village. It was originally a small fishing and pearling village. Turning it into a Heritage theme Boutique hotel, while preserving the heritage theme of the existing structures, and built within the traditional Qatari style. A project that celebrates the achievements of integration and respect and of modern life structure within old traditional architecture. Consists of two Heritage Hotels connected with existing structures in its vicinity. The existing buildings dedicated for Hotel (1) are historical houses that extend over an area of 18.100 mÂ˛ . The existing buildings dedicated for Hotel (2) are historical houses that extend over an area of 10.000 mÂ˛ . Designed within the tradition of leisure resorts, the Al Wakra hotel evokes a sense of elegance, romance and imagination. The Architectural Character used in the interior design is inspired by a fusion of cultures that have been embraced by both the traditional and modern styles. Each architectural element in the hotel is fashioned by the cultural imprints which have shaped the local people and places. A project that celebrates the achievements of integration and respect and of modern life structure within old traditional architecture.

Al Wakra Hotel & Resort CONCEPT GUIDELINES | Heritage - conservation of traditional architectural elements The interior design concept is directed towards its development goals by guiding principles conceived through the vision of : • the contemporary adaptation of traditional Qatari architecture and Culture • incorporate traditional architecture with modern construction methods and materials • utilizing traditional building styles and practices • utilizing traditional architecture styles and elements • influences and interpretations of traditional architecture elements in the contemporary architectural • respect and inspiration from the local culture and traditional architecture
