STOKESDALE – The Town of Stokesdale will likely continue its contract for the administration of its water system with the Meritech firm with a few changes. At the December meeting, the town council voted 4-0 to include language in the new contract that says that Meritech will pay any fines or levies if they do not file paperwork with the State of North Carolina on time for the water system. Previously, the Town of Stokesdale was on the hook if Meritech did not file the paperwork in a timely fashion. “They are responsible for any penalties assessed to the town, if any, [in the new contract,]” said town attorney Bill Trevorrow. ::

Town Hopes To Improve Park Video Cameras STOKESDALE – The Town of Stokesdale is seeking to “upgrade” the video camera system at the town park, said the council at the December meeting at town hall. Stokesdale Town Council member Frank Bruno said the town is hoping to be “looking at a couple more companies” to get prices and details before replacing the current security video camera system at the park, which has needed constant repairs. The council will likely revisit the issue after getting more proposals. ::

Stokesdale Waives Fees For Culp, Inc. STOKESDALE – The Stokesdale Town Council voted to waive the planning and zoning fees for Culp, Inc., as the firm adds onto its textile facilities in town. Mayor Randy Braswell made the proposal and it passed the council by a vote of 4-0. ::
