WE ARE! January 2011.. I’m in my London flat, its cold and miserable out side.. I’m ready for a ride.. exited about this season. And I’m not the only one.. I can see that allover Internet, by speaking with friends.. This time of year its time of preparation for many riders new sponsors, bikes.. To give you a little kick this mag is coming out.. This year will be really crazy and if you are stoked on fixed bikes this is the right place for you. This is as well space for people with similar point of view to collaborate! Just have a look..

I first met Oscar tree or four years ago, building his first conversion.. I always appreciated the riders who put it out there and push themselves beyond their limitations.. And Oscar is definitely one of them. I’m really exited how this year will go for him. Idea behind race is to give all the riders this same chance, no practice before eliminations. From the time you are inside you have six practice runs, not a lot if you want o get good feel of the track then stop. Timed run of ten laps with the fastest 32 making it through to the next round where you’d be riding with another competitor chosen by computer on the track at the same time in a ‘pursuit race’. Track bikes, trick bikes all allowed as long is fixed. For sure flat bars helps as the corners where tight feels more like riding in bowl. In total 107 riders take part.. Your opponent was picked randomly by computer, not really good system as some of the faster riders could be knocked out at the start with a the winner out of a pair of slower riders being able to go through. Still that’s life. The whole day was heaps of fun, Red Bull put on asick event. There were loads of crashes.. The most crazy one Chris running over Straton’s back (page 35), fast riders and a great atmosphere.

Banana Crew that just small part of SKULLBIKECLUB.COM Check them out!! Strathon, Mark and Vincent are super cool dudes stoked on bikes. They all form New Zeland, passionated about beer, bowlilng, skateboarding, home made tattoos and they all have yellow bikes. I meet them first time at Tokyo Fixed Gear Shop.. actually Mark its working as a shop manager, Vincent and Straton are responsible for web shop.. Idea of short article about Critical Mass London was in my head for some time now. Couple years back I ride almost every month.. I remember that was couple things which put me a side that I didn’t have fun any more.. Its winter and any reason to ride is go.. lets do it. This time my job was to give a bit personal character of the organization and people behind it. First thing was really hard to do it as no such thing. It is for so long now that people know that is happening on last Friday of every month, and starts for South Bank under Waterloo Bridge around 6:30 pm. People to arrive at beginning where first timers.. only what you need to do is follow the mass of people.. Every one was really friendly, all bikes welcome. Two moving sound systems.. Music make people move any way was so cold that people start to ride in circle around other people..

Actually is one of formation of critical mass - cyclone.. (I did hear that started in Critical Mass in Chicago.. coping idea from Indians similar way they ride horses around wagons during attack) from this move people move on the road.. Shock no Police, not even one on bike.. Mass move in direction you cant really control.. Friday night in city like London Is really busy that’s appearance of Critical Mass make lots of drivers angry.. Different with people around main tourist spots there on most of main crossroads starts party.. people dancing.. putting bikes in the air in memory of all those people which die on the road.. After more then two hours of ride Critical Mass finished around Old Street.. If you are stoked on riding that’s good fun!
