KATHERINE “KC” BASSETT, PRO-RATA ASSISTANT PROFESSOR OF EXERCISE SCIENCE Bassett has been involved in sports her entire life. She played basketball for Sterling College and now coaches the junior varsity women’s team, is an assistant coach for the varsity women’s team and serves as recruiting coordinator for the Sterling College women's basketball program. She earned her M.S. in Health, Physical Education, and Recreation from Emporia State University. In spring 2007, Bassett was named Sterling College's Outstanding Female Student of the Year and the Female Athlete of the Year. She graduated summa cum laude with a B.A. in Elementary Education.

DR. CURTIS BEECHAN, PROFESSOR OF CHEMISTRY Beechan has outstanding academic credentials with a long list of laboratory and teaching experience. He worked for Rachelle Laboratories, Inc. as an organic chemist and supervisor and Ultrasystems, Inc. as an organic chemist. Beechan was a Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of California in San Diego, an assistant professor at Mount St. Mary’s College in Los Angeles, and as an adjunct professor at Christian Heritage College and Grossmont College. Beechan completed his Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry from Stanford University and his B.S. in Chemistry from University of California Riverside.

DR. JONATHAN CONARD, ASSISTANT PROFESSOR OF BIOLOGY Dr. Jonathan Conard is actively involved at Quivira National Wildlife Refuge and frequently involves his students in research projects happening at the refuge. Recent projects include tracking deer movement patterns and the spread of Chronic Wasting Disease, the effects of prairie restoration on small mammals, and population data collected through BioBlitz days at Quivira. He is published in peer-reviewed journals and on the Kansas Department of Wildlife, Parks and Tourism website.

Conard completed his B.S. in Biology at Southwestern College. He earned both an M.S. and Ph.D. in Biology from Kansas State University.
