“Hunger is history! The cures for hunger have finally been found!” Imagine reading that in tomorrow’s paper. Would you dare to believe? It’s true. Ending hunger is no longer a dream. The world can feed itself today. In countries around the world, people are daring to believe. A city in Brazil believed that hunger should not define their community. They believed that every citizen has a basic right to food and all have been working together to make sure every person in their community has something to eat. And it’s really happening. CRWRC believes too. CRWRC believes that God has created a bountiful world with enough food for everyone. By answering God’s call to live justly and love mercy, and by working together with other Christians across Canada, hunger will end in our lifetime. CRWRC is working together with other members of the Canadian Foodgrains Bank (CFGB) and local partners to end hunger for good. Yes, your gifts provide emergency food to people affected by disaster. But you’re also helping people secure their food future. In Malawi where land is squeezed by drought, communities are setting up ‘grain banks’ for food and for income; some of the money from grain sales is invested back into community food gardens and into next season’s crop planting.
