urban planning_ This is an urban project considering the settlement next to the industrial area of Thessaloniki. The aim of the project is to redefine the margins of the field and find a way to succesfully combine both the functions of the settlement and the industrial area. We re-designed the road network, re-defined the urban units and combined them with a cultural activity. Our proposal also includes an extension of the existing settlement with an energy saving neighbourhood and a technological photovoltaic park..

textile_

This workshops’ aim was to built a 1:1 model initiated by the world of fashion, that can be either worn on human body or can stand on its own in the environment as a structure. Inspired by christas’ de carouge work in fashion design we constructed a model using wire and white fabric. restoration_

This work is a restoration of a slaughter house which is an eclecticistic building. The building is turned into a cinema center with a small fairground and it is placed among a nexus of cultural spaces that are located in the area of the slaughter houses. The main idea is the use, in different variations of the one and only primitive structure: the cube. And that is because only a morphology as simple as a cube can be successfully combined with a complicated eclicticistic face. landscape_ A narrow stream placed vertically and above a main city road which is for years neglected. We were asked to enliven this narrow space in order to make it livable and constitute a verdurous lung for the region. We designed routes and stops with sitting areas. We also planned various activities, such as graffiti walls, open excibition spaces and periodical workshops in order to attract visitors. The main structural element of the proposal were the trees. metamorphosis/paramorphosis_

A design studio empasizing on the process of producing architectural space. During this project we were asked to define space, after a subjective analusis, in terms of built and void. Through this process, we invented a visual tool for producing space in an urban scale. This tool can evolve endlessly producing forms and shapes. The result of our research is a proposal, a concept that can output architectural variations in the region. Year: 2008 / Professorship: Vana Tentokali / Assistant: Sebastian Duque, Roubini Makridou, George Koutoupis/ Group Work with Argiro Pouliovali

house_ It is a house located near the center of a Thessaloniki. The area has a strict construction legislation about the height of the buildings. It concerns a couple with two children. The concept was to form a house that can provide individuality between the couple and the children. The house consists of two structures which are connected in both levels with an adit. Also a small working space for the couple was part of our proposal. Our aim was to design a rather open house which can host various activities and provide individuality in all its members.
