Ka-Pow! Pop! Poetry! Apple Cherry, scarlet, like the horizon it shines. It’s shape is plump, lopsided it is. Apple luxurious pieces of wonder. It smells of the beach, like a new can of Febreeze. Crunch into the apple. The apple is like a tropical smoothie. Like the sunrise, and sunset. Tangy, sweet, juicy like a bite of deliciousness The apple calls you into your mouth. Life Is… Life is like a rollercoaster There are ups and there are downs One day you’re the king of the world The next your hopes are in the ground Life is like a game of chance You can risk it all with out a glance You may win fame and glory Or you can be an old story Life is like a storm blowing You can’t control which way it’s going It can bring you to the top of life Then push it away like a kite Life is like a fight You are using all your might One day the finish is in sight The next hope is out like a light
Grades 6 & 7 Pop Can The first time I got spanked by my dad I was 7 years old summer of 2007 my cousin showed me how to shake a can. Thrilled I wanted to try it on my dad I ran to the fridge so excited and quickly grabbed a can. I shook that pop can like it was my job! Not knowing I gave the little surprise to my dad only to find out I had made a huge mistake. It felt as if the can had exploded like a volcano. And the soda was the lava. His eye’s got wide like the ocean. Now fear rolling down my spine as he said in a calm voice “Bend over.” WHAM! Tears began to dance on my cheek. I ran away to hide my face.
