The Unbroken Bond (Yet) A long time our bond shall last The love you gave –it’s gone very far ever since You died away I wish

Cows On one bleak summer afternoon A man was wondering through the woods Upon his back a sack of goods But what happened next would make him swoon A frightening noise came from behind Then spewing out their vicious moo The man ran fast, he lost his shoe A thought that will not leave his mind Kyle Gruber 8th Grade, Edison Middle School

You would some back Soon Every night I pray That you were here Instead of There The happiness you sang The joy you shared Why did you have to go away? Love won’t let you go walk away! You’re gone to the King and the kingdom of No fear Everyday I think about The unbroken bond…Yet

Let Go A girl one day lost all her might She believed it was her ending light Her whole life flashed before her eyes She was fed up with all his lies He said he loved her but broke her heart The pain inside tore her apart All she does is sit and cry Eventually she says goodbye Nadia Wiegreff 8th Grade, Edison Middle School

In memory of: Anthony Moore, Kevin Moore, Doreen Garrett, and Sybil Haynes- You’re truly sent from heaven. Kandyce Void 8th Grade, Hartford School-STEAMM Academy The Monsters That Attack in the Day In this field of Imginary Cloud’s and Castles the monsters that only come out at night live and breath daylight The Iies they feed on are so cold. They were never meant to be unfold, they tell a truth to get a lie and a lie to get a truth. They constantly break out and latch on to you; did you think monsters only attack at night? No they’ll get you anywhere and everywhere. They’re mad and UGLY on the inside but the bright eyes HIDES the side in which You can’t see, they seem as if they have inner BEAUTY but you can see on the outside but not on the inside. Behind the smiles and laughs is everything you’ll never understand. They’ll drive you insane but that can be a good thing. Insanity brings genus, so let them in and lie to them to the ones who ask if you’re ok feed them they’ll take care of you and make sure that you’re ok. DID YOU THINK MONSTERS ONLY ATTACK AT NIGHT? But Sometimes there are monsters that attack in the day. Vanitee Floyd 8th Grade, Early College Academy Stark County District Library ~ 2014 Youth Poetry Contest ~ Page 115
