and one great grandson. They lost a son to cancer. CAROL HANNIGAN RYAN is proud to announce that she just became the great-grandmother of twins, a boy and a girl, Reese & Layla. JANET SULLIVAN SABATO is a great-grandmother for the first time in May, 2011. DOROTHY FINN URBANSKY is living the good life at the shore. MARGUERITE RUTLEDGE THIVIERGE sadly announces that her husband, Leo, passed away on March 19, 2011. He served in the United States Marine Corps for over twenty years and was buried with full military honors at Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Wrightstown, NJ. Margie was so filled with pride at the performance of eight Marines in dress blues giving Honor to an aged, retired fallen comrade, with taps, rifle gun salute and a magnificent flag folding ceremony which was presented to her with thanks from the President of the United States and the United States Marine Corps for serving his country. “May God bless our wonderful country and all men and women who serve.” M. MAGDALENE TURCICH UTZ served in the U.S. Navy from 1952-55. She is retired from the Fairfax Co. (VA) Police Department after 25 years and now works part time at Busch Gardens. Magdalene is widowed but has two sons and six grandchildren; lives in Williamsburg, VA and Nags Head, NC. CLASS OF 1950 HELEN TOBIN COURTNEY is proud to announce the birth of her first great-grandchild in Septem-

ber, Christopher David Bakanauskas, Her second one is expected shortly. ROSE MARIE SORGENTONI GENTILE‘s grandson, John J. Gentile, III, graduated from St. Augustine Prep in May and now attends Holy Cross College, Worcester, MA. Their granddaughter is a senior at Our Lady of Mercy Academy. ELIZABETH BARR MAGNOTTA and her husband celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. The have seven children and seventeen grandchildren. Their oldest grandson, Michael Magnotta IV, became an Eagle Scout in June. Mike is with Paoli I, the oldest Scout Troop in the country. This troop will celebrate its 100th anniversary this year. JANET GALLAGHER KIPP is retired and enjoys living in Cape May County. She has 11 grand-

children and three great grandchildren. ELEANOR TOMECSKO NADOLSKI’s husband Joe died in March. Their son Kevin, an Oblate of St. Francis de Sales, did a great job of celebrating his father’s funeral Mass and preaching the homily. BARBARA L. ORR ‘s first grandchild Rachel made her First Communion in May at St. Mary of the Lakes, Medford, NJ. Barbara traveled for ten days in August through North and South Ireland. “I’m still working as a court officer in Delaware County and we’re looking for more officers. Anyone interested should call me.” THERESA MARKOWSKA STILL , Irene Siergiej Taylor and Dorothy Szymanski Blaszczyk had a marvelous time seeing each other at their 60th reunion. JOSEPHINE GIORDANO STAFFIERI ‘54 and her husband returned from Florida after working at Disney World’s Hollywood Studios for twelve years. While there Josephine met a Hallahan sister, Eileen McGlinchey Cappa,(pictured on the left above) at church where Josephine and her husband volunteered during their time in Florida. When the husbands where introduced they realized that they came from the same neighborhood growing up and knew each other - Small World. Josephine was re-elected to her 3rd term on the Monroe Township, NJ School Board.
