In this monograph the author professes to reconstruct the history of the Gangas early dynasty from 300 to 600 A.D. Besides giving an up to date list of epigraphic records of the dynasty, he has published here for the first time the Hebbata Grant of Durvinita Ganga. The learned author has shown remarkable erudition in determining the genealogy of the dynasty, which has been a highly controversial topic.
