Format: Peer-led discussions. Each 4S topic will be facilitated by an industry professional who has specific experience or expertise on that topic. Set-Up and Timing: Each room is set in roundtables to encourage active and vibrant conversation. Table space in each room is available on a first-come, first-served basis. Discussions begin at the top of the hour and continue for 50 minutes. Volunteers in each room will close the topic at 10-minutes to the hour. Attendees who wish to continue discussing that specific topic can do so in the designated “Open Discussion/Pop-Up Meeting Rooms” as indicated on the schedule.

Happy Hour at the Top Golf Swing Suite at MGM Grand Detroit All 4S Summit attendees are invited to a special Happy Hour event at the new Top Golf Swing Suite at MGM Grand Detroit, sponsored by MGM Resorts International, MGM Grand Detroit, and the Las Vegas Convention & Visitors Authority. The MGM Grand Detroit is located at 1777 3rd Avenue, a half-mile walk from the Westin Book Cadillac via Michigan Avenue to Bagley. Community Engagement Mike Guswiler, President, West Michigan Sports Commission This group discussion will focus on strategies related to many facets where community engagement is pertinent to the success of both organizational missions (board, funding, etc.) and to event management and success (sponsor procurement, volunteers, etc.). Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) launched in 1985, is recognized globally as the professional designation in the meeting, convention, exhibition and event industry. What benefits might a CMP offer for sports tourism services professionals? This session will cover the CMP program, requirements, and answer your questions on why a CMP might make sense for you.

In today’s world of accountability, organizations need to do all they can to help sponsors justify their investments. One practice that can go a long way is providing post-event fulfillment reports. Recap reports also give organizations another important asset: a sponsorship renewal tool. During this session, you’ll learn about the key elements of a solid post-event fulfillment report, share examples, and hear about three key trends in post-event reporting the will keep your sponsors coming back.
