NUEVO FILM: “HIKE 3” SPLITBOARD EN ESTADO PURO.
NEW FILM: “HIKE 3” SPLITBOARDING AT ITS PUREST. Llevábamos dos años trabajando con nuestro proyecto HIKE en los Alpes austriacos, pero después de una mala temporada, la búsqueda de buena nieve nos llevó hasta el norte de Noruega. Bib Pekarek y yo llenamos la autocaravana de mi padre con todo lo necesario para caminar, raidear, surfear y acampar en la nieve, y nos lanzamos a la carretera. Allí completamos el equipo con nuestros amigos esquiadores Stefan Häusl y Björn Heregger y un par de cámaras. Las montañas son increíbles; algunas se elevan directamente desde el mar hasta los 2.000m. Llegar hasta las líneas deseadas puede ser una misión difícil, por lo que hay que estar bien equipado de material, incluidas cuerdas para un posible rappel. Aquí tan al norte, los días se van haciendo cada vez más largos y en una ocasión, nos hicimos la última bajada a las 10pm, antes de levantarnos al amanecer, a las 3am, para nuestra siguiente misión. El tiempo fue nuestro mayor reto, porque cambiaba constantemente y era difícil planificar con antelación. Fue una experiencia increíble, con frustración por el mal tiempo, bajadas de polvo en el bosque y momentos mágicos en un entorno maravilloso... After the last two years of realizing our hike project in the Austrian alps and at the end of a really bad season here in our austrian home mountains our search for snow brought us up to the northern part of Norway. Bib Pekarek and myself were driving up my dads campervan filled up with everything we would need for hiking, riding, surfing and camping out in the snow. Up there we met our skiing friends Stefan Häusl and Björn Heregger to complete our crew of riders plus our camera team of two. The mountains up there are insane, some of them stick right out of the ocean and are about 2000m high. It can be quiet a mission to reach the lines you want to ride so beside some experience and knowledge it is good to bring everything you need for exploring like a rope to rappel into some couloir for example. As days get longer and longer so far north until it doesn’t get dark at all anymore we once had our last run at 10pm before getting up at sunrise at 3am again to hike up for our next mission. The most difficult challenge for us was the weather which was always changing and made it impossible to plan stuff ahead.
