Outlook: Winthrop stormed the state final with a young team in 2011, losing 1-0 to NYA after dominating play through long stretches of the game. The Ramblers are motivated to finish the job. Kaiser and Ingram were the team's leading

Promising newcomers: Sophomore — Brooke Taylor; Freshmen — Hayley Choate, Tessie Moddy, Adrienne Tracy, Jess Tozier, Sk ye Kierstead. Outlook: The Ramblers have won just three games in the last two seasons and hope to rebuild into a competitive club. There's a solid group returning with a promising sophomore class and incoming freshmen.

Outlook: Van Tassel, Winthrop's nordic skiing coach, takes over a small but talented team that should contend in the MVC and, if they stay healthy, beyond. Hachey and Berney finished 16th and 24th, respectively, at states last year, while Allen, Charest and Johnson all qualified

as freshmen. Kieltyka qualified for states as a freshman but had to sit out with an injury last year. Abbott leads a strong freshman class. Coach’s comment: “There’s not much depth, but the talent is pretty good.” — Coach Ed Van Tassel.

Promising newcomeers: Senior — Bailey Cauotte (MF); Freshmen — Bri Damon (MF), Amanda Paradis (MF), Alyssa Theriault (MF), Alexs Bennett (F), Ashley Campbell (MF), Courtney Keough (FB), Jen Dobson (FB), Olivia Dooley (MF). Outlook: The Bucks have won just three games in

each of the past two seasons and hope to better that this fall. Buckfield lost some experience but have a group of returning players that could help the team improve. Coach’s comment: “We have a lot of players that will have to take on new roles this season. Team chemistry and work ethic will have a big impact on us reaching our goals. Our goal is to improve our record this season and qualify for the playoffs.” — Coach Travis Magnusson.

Key losses: Caitlin Henderson. Promising newcomers: Senior — Justin Damon; Juniors — Hannah Gallant, Sam Zak. Outlook: The Bucks picked up a great deal of

experience and lost only one key player last season. Buckfield has two strong juniors who should keep the team competitive. Coach’s comment: “We have a lot more experience
