Athens 2011 Strong show at Greek tourism exhibition XENIA in Athens, December 2010 For the fourth year running, COCO-MAT participated at the international tourism exhibition XENIA in Athens, the biggest event of its kind in Greece. COCO-MAT’s bright 300m2 pavilion proved to be an attraction in itself, showcasing four completely furnished bedrooms, a bed gallery and a selection of hotel linen, towels and bathrobes. Good visitor numbers and strong interest from existing and potential hotel collaborators made XENIA a successful event for COCO-MAT.

For the first time, COCO-MAT also contributed to the exhibition’s conference programme, organising a discussion forum on the subject of sustainability in the hospitality sector. A distinguished panel of speakers representing tour operators, hotels, architects, and tourist organisations discussed the demands and opportunities inherent in green tourism developments. deltos international
WE CANADA New shop opening in Canada COCO-MAT continues expansion in North America. A first Canadian shop opened in Toronto in December last year. Hotels COCO-MAT Aman Resort Sveti Stefan, Montenegro
The recently opened Resort Sveti Stefan is the first of the Aman Resort Group of Hotels to equip its rooms with COCO-MAT sleep products. Set in beautiful surroundings on the island of Sveti Stefan, just off the coast of Budva, the resort’s architecture follows the style of the local fishing village, dating back to the 15th century. The resort comprises 50 exclusive and private luxury suites, in line with the Aman Resort’s philosophy of choosing unique natural locations and offering outstanding facilities and services.

COCO-MAT at fairs and exhibitions HOSTELCO COCO-MAT participated at the HOSTELCO hotel exhibition in Barcelona in November last year. Sharing a stand with Italian companies Technogym and Starpool, the three-company partnership exhibited the unique “Wellness Suite”. Addressed at high-end and luxury hotel clients, the Wellness Suite unites bedroom, fitness and spa area in one harmonious space, meeting highest demands on quality and service. The response was overwhelming and COCO-MAT expects to collaborate with the two companies in the future.

Inside Design For the second year running, COCO-MAT also featured in the Dutch INSIDE DESIGN event, organised by Elle Deco at the end of September. For the duration of three days selected design houses were given the opportunity to transform one room each at the prestigious Lloyd Hotel in Amsterdam. The event has become an annual open-house happening, attracting the interest of designers, architects and hotel owners alike. In known style, COCO-MAT this year furnished an entire apartment, including bedroom, bathroom and kitchen.

As the only Greek participant, COCO-MAT was selected to exhibit at an exclusive show of European interior design companies in Tokyo. Organised by the EU Gateway Programme, a choice of European companies had the opportunity to present to a demanding Japanese audience. COCO-MAT chose to display its trademark 4-layer bed, which struck a real note for its emphasis on craftsmanship and use of natural materials. Several companies and contract agents have expressed an interest in our concept. We are now evaluating proposals for a more permanent foothold in the Land of the Rising Sun.

Taking a step towards the spa and well-being sector, COCO-MAT chose to attend the Beyond Beauty event in Paris in September last year. As part of the “Responsible Luxury Pavilion”, created by wellbeing specialist Motti Essakow and Buddha-attitude spa brand founder Helen Coulon, COCO-MAT had the opportunity to exhibit alongside other leading luxury and wellness companies. Sleep products stood at the heart of our exhibition space and a selection of “chill-out” furniture, poufs and bean bags were distributed throughout the pavilion. deltos international

ICAP, a leader for Credit Ratings and Business Information in Greece, awarded COCO-MAT with an AA rating - the highest score available. The rating is reserved for companies that through proper management of financial matters succeeded to maintain high credit worthiness.

Oeko-tex is a uniform, international certification standard for textiles that gives consumers an indication of the content quality of materials. As part of the certification process, raw materials, intermediate and end products, including accessories, are tested for their chemical properties. ‌that our towels and bathrobes are from organic textiles, certified by GOTS? The Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) testifies to the environmentally and socially responsible processing of organic fibres, providing credible assurance to consumers.
Make your own pillow Customers in our Hamburg shop were given the opportunity to make their own pillows. Under expert guidance from Kostas Oreopoulos and Konny Dammann, participants learned about the use of different filling materials: natural rubber flakes, lavender, sea weed, and how to adapt pillows for optimal sleeping conditions. COCO-MAT pillows consist of compartments holding the filling in place and preventing it from shifting. All rubber-filled pillows carry a zipper that enables user to remove material from each individual compartment and adjust the pillow to personal needs and body type. Similar pillow-making events will be held in all our shops abroad.

Sleep on nature:
lesson 5 – top-mattresses Mattresses are – by design – able to support the heavy parts of the body, mainly the waist and hip areas. Those parts of our skeletal and muscular system which are light and curvy, such as the neck, legs, arms etc., are therefore often insufficiently supported. COCO-MAT was the first company to offer a solution to this problem, by introducing a separate top-mattress. Our mattresses adapt to the body – not the other way around. The body thus remains in its natural position, with no part being cramped or forced into an unnatural position.
