Summer 2012

FROM THE EDITOR For me, summer means gardening in the early morning hours before the sun has had a chance to perk up, strolling my local farmers’ market as often as I can, and planning lots of getaways whether they be near or far. It’s that time of year when even staying home can feel like a vacation. I fully embrace the carefree relaxed days of summer. My summer menus are equally at ease. Our outdoor summer grill and patio get lots of use during the cooler evening hours and there is always a refreshing drink in hand. Fresh strawberry shortcake or icy cold watermelon hit the spot as our summer dessert stars. We’ve had a fantastic time bringing you this summer issue. We’ll take you along on our antiquing adventures, pay a visit to an organic family farm, show you how to make delicious berry desserts, and so much more. I hope you enjoy this little bit of summer sunshine!
