BTEC National in Applied Science Extended Diploma Level 3
Group: All Learners Campus: Waterloo Start Date: Sep 2012 Duration: 2 Years Applied Science BTEC Level 3 Diploma is a two year vocational Science course for students who wish to work or study in medical related areas. It provides knowledge of scientific principles, while relating these to the workplace. You have the opportunity to improve your GCSE Maths and English grades too.
Content: You will complete five core units: Scientific Principles, Laboratory Organisation, Workshop Practices, Role of Science Technician and Scientific Method. There is also the requirement of completing seven specialist units; for example, Clinical Investigations, Physiological Measurements or Scientific Practical Techniques.
Entry criteria: You will need four GCSEs at grades A - C (with Maths and English GCSE grades no lower that D), or an Intermediate qualification e.g. BTEC National Diploma with Merit. To apply for this course, complete an application form. You can apply online.
