After allegedly placing zip ties around his wrists, the offenders supposedly kicked open an office door to look for money. A customer entered the site at 12:55 a.m. Tuesday and called for someone after noticing the open drawer, Tolliver said. With no response, he waited and soon began to converse with a police officer who entered. The law enforcer approached the other worker, who said he believed someone was in the office space with his peer. Calling for backup, the officer ordered everyone out of the room, with the complainant identifying the other men as his aggressors and the store’s probable robbers, Tolliver said. Processing the scene, authorities, who recovered two handguns and a backpack containing $393 from the register, arrested 40-year-old West Philadelphian Donte Camp and 43-year-old Bensalem inhabitant Calvin Clark. Their charges include robbery, theft, recklessly endangering another person and possession of an instrument of crime.

Their male victim reported that at 12:12 a.m. he encountered the four figures while he walked southbound between Tasker and Dickinson streets on Sixth Street, Detective Danielle Tolliver of South Detective Division said. As they approached him, the complainant suspected he would face trouble and declared “Just take whatever you want; just leave my ID and my phone.” Minus any provocation, they began to punch and kick him. Falling to the ground, the defenseless individual suffered additional punches, with one of the aggressors reaching into his pockets to rid him of his Cricket Android phone, $400 and his identification, which he received back before the unknown males grabbed their bikes and fled northbound along Sixth Street, Tolliver said.
