Head Coach Florida St., 1987 Seventh Year Record at SLU: 96-82 Career Record: 193-124 (12th Yr.) In six seasons as head coach at Southeastern Louisiana, Jim Yarbrough has helped make Southeastern not just one of the top programs in the Southland Conference, but one of the top Division I programs in the state of Louisiana. Yarbrough has kept the Lions on a consistent course during his tenure, producing winning campaigns in five of his six years and advancing to the Southland Conference tournament in each season. Since the 2003-04 season, Southeastern has been a model of consistency among Division I programs in the state of Louisiana winning 140 games (second behind LSU) and producing more winning seasons (seven) than any other school. Replacing Southeastern graduate Billy Kennedy in May 2005, Yarbrough has done an excellent job of keeping the program very competitive. His 96 wins in Hammond are the third-most in school history and his .527 winning percentage is the best for a program that was looking for a solid foundation. Prior to his arrival at Southeastern, Yabrough spent five seasons as the head coach at Division II Valdosta State, where he posted an impressive 97-42 record. In 10 seasons as a head coach, Yarbrough has notched a 193-124 record. At Valdosta, Yarbrough’s 2001-02 squad posted a 24-8 record and reached the NCAA tournament, advancing to the Sweet 16. He was named the South Region Coach of the Year and was a finalist for National Division II Coach of the Year. He followed that with 19-7 record before posting a 25-4 mark in 2003-04 and helping the Blazers to a No. 3 ranking in the final Division II polls.

Fortenberry finished as the Lions’ second-leading scorer in 2010-11, averaging a career-high 11.9 points per game ... set career-highs in nearly every offensive category, including assists (118), field goals made (106) and 3-point field goals made (42) ... led the team and finished fourth in the Southland with 4.2 assists per game ... currently ranks fifth in school history in assists (313) ... posted a career-high 30 points at Northwestern State ... added 24 points at McNeese State and 22 vs. Southern and UTSA ... recorded second career double-double against UTSA with 10 rebounds (one assist shy of recording a triple double) ... added 21 points in win at Lamar ... finished seventh in the Southland in assist-to-turnover ratio (1.8) and 13th in 3-point field goal percentage (36.2).
DeSHAWN PATTERSON #20 Sr., 6-4, 220 Guard/Forward Houma, La. Vandebilt Catholic High School Patterson averaged a career-high 6.3 points per game while posting career-bests in rebounds (3.9) and assists (3.6) ... tied a career-high with 21 points in a Southland Conference win over McNeese State ... finished the season as the team leader in steals (44) and was second in assists (104) ... third in the Southland in assist-to-turnover ratio (2.3) ... finished seventh in the Southland in both assists and steals (1.5) ... enters his final season tied with former Lion Amir Abdur-Rahim for second in school history in steals (120) ... ranks sixth in school history in assists (275).
ROOSEVELT JOHNSON #10 Jr., 6-6, 225 Forward Norco, La. Destrehan High School Johnson played in all 29 games for the Lions averaging 5.5 points and 4.0 rebounds ... started five games on the season, including road games at Alabama and Vanderbilt ... posted career highs with 28 points and 13 rebounds in win over Dillard ... added double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds in non-conference win at Jacksonville State ... scored in double figures in seven games ... came off the bench to score 15 points and grab six rebounds in win over Central Arkansas ... went 6-of-9 from the floor and scored 12 points against UTSA.
