The Time is Now Continuing our season of films taking an historical and global perspective on the struggle for equal rights. To complement our screening of stunning new documentary He Named Me Malala, we are delighted to welcome Arifa Nasim to introduce and discuss the film. Currently in her gap year, Arifa is a seasoned campaigner for equal education rights for girls, having campaigned against FGM, forced marriage and honour-based violence since the age of 14. She is the UK’s Youth Delegate to the UN. THE TIME IS NOW is a UK-wide film project, launched in Oct 2015, celebrating women forcing change, curated and produced by Showroom Workstation and Film Hub North in partnership with Pathé and Twentieth Century Fox. THE TIME IS NOW is a BFI Film Audience Network initiative with the support of the BFI, awarding funds from The National Lottery.
