Grampa Cecil was the most influential person in my life. He loved the simple things: rich soil, fishin' for catfish, his bride's smile and singin' hymns. He taught me what humble means. He taught me how to cheat at checkers, too, but that's another story. He was a farmer and a lover of people. He taught us all to love the earthy sweet smell of tomato leaves.
