2009 FINAL FOUR Oklahoma swept through its home state once again in the 2009 NCAA Championship en route to its second Final Four appearance. Following its sixth Big 12 season championship, OU was rewarded with the No. 1 seed in the Oklahoma City Region, ensuring a path through the Sooner State. Oklahoma dropped Prairie View (76-47) and Georgia Tech (69-50) in Iowa City, Iowa in the first and second rounds. At the Ford Center in Oklahoma City, the Sooner Nation turned swarmed to the best attended regional site of the season as OU played in crowds of over 11,000 on its home turf. The Sooners dispatched of Pittsburgh (70-59) and Purdue (74-68) to punch a ticket to St. Louis and the Final Four. Oklahoma fell to Louisville at the buzzer, 61-59, ending its remarkable run. The Sooners matched their singleseason program record for wins with 32 and finished fourth in the national polls.

POSTSEASON PRIDE Oklahoma has proved its status as a national powerhouse with its frequent postseason action. OU has appeared in 10 straight NCAA Championships, including finishing as the national runner-up in 2002. The Sooners lead Big 12 teams in consecutive NCAA Championship appearances and Sweet 16 trips since the league was formed.
