Exhibition January Exhibition continues until Fri ∂6th

Róisín de Buitléar has been working in the medium of glass as a primary material since ∂983. Recognised as a pioneer in the field of contemporary glass in Ireland, this exhibition provides a cross section of her recent practice including her body of work Ortha, a series of glass sound objects made to create an Irish incantation, a harmony of voice, object and Irish soul. Irish cultural heritage is a predominate feature of de Buitléars’ work, where ideas of traditional legacy, ornament and narrative are explored through innate qualities of her material. Exhibition Opening is a FREE event. Exhibition runs until ∂7th April 2◊∂5. The opening of this exhibition is accompanied by a performance by Liam Ó’Maonlaí and Peter O’Toole (The Hothouse Flowers). With an introduction and narrative by artist Róisín de Buitléar, Liam and Peter manipulate de Buitléar’s glass as sound objects in this special one-off concert. Tickets: €∂2. Duration: 9◊mins. TEXTILE WORKSHOPS This six-week course with facilitator and textile artist Kathleen O’Reilly teaches the techniques involved when using material, fabric, patchwork and applique. Having learned basic sewing skills, each participant will work towards making their own quilt over the six week course. Cost: €75 for six weeks which includes a starter kit. Accessibility – Solstice is accessible for people with disabilities including designated seating within the theatre, lift and specially adapted WC. Please contact the box office prior to your visit if you wish to book designated seating or if you have any other specific requirements.

Solstice Bar – Beat the queues at the bar and pre-order your interval drinks.

Concessions – Concessions are available for some events and apply to Senior Citizens (or over 65 years), Students, Children, Registered Unemployed and Registered Disabled. Appropriate ID will be requested. Children – Children under 2 years can be seated on a parent’s or guardian’s knee during a performance. Any child over 2 years must occupy their own seat. Under ∂6s must be accompanied by an adult. Latecomers Policy – It is advisable to arrive at least ∂5 – 2◊ minutes before a performance commences. Latecomers will not be allowed into the auditorium until an appropriate break in the performance. Please note that this maybe at an interval.
