SOHO THEATRE & DOCTOR BROWN (AKA PHIL BURGERS) We first saw Phil (Doctor Brown) late at night on the first day of the Edinburgh Festival in 2010, performing his brilliantly anarchic show Because - we loved it so much we brought it back to Soho later that year. Since then we’ve continued to support the development of Phil’s work, presenting his 2011 follow up show, Becaves, at Edinburgh before bringing it back to Soho Theatre twice. 2012 saw Phil debut his new show, Befrdfgth, at the Melbourne Comedy Festival, winning the Barry Award, before we again took him to Edinburgh where he went on to win the biggest prize in comedy - the Foster’s Edinburgh Comedy Award, as well as a Total Theatre Award.
