A recent self study condu ducted by the university indicated that, of all the athletes who completed their eligibility at Tiffin Unive versity in the last five years, 95% of those athletes graduated. While many colleges would be ecstatic wi with these results, we will never be content until it is 100%. Tiffin University Head Men’s Soccer Coach Rudy Brownell Rudy Brownell enters his eighth season as Head Men’s Soccer Coach at Tiffin University. He has a 75-39-13 record since taking over in 2007 from long time Men’s Soccer Coach Ian Day. He has led the Dragons to championships in four of the last six seasons (1 GLIAC regular season championship, three GLIAC Tournament Championships). Brownell, who also holds a 84-39-16 career mark as Head Women’s Coach, helped lead the Dragons to their first ever NCAA Regional appearance and regular season GLIAC Championship in 2013. They also won two consecutive GLIAC Tournament Championships in 2008 and 2009, while also winning for the third time in 2011. In just seven seasons at the helm of the women’s program, Brownell made his mark with the Dragons women’s soccer program. In 2008, the Dragons women’s soccer program earned admission to the NCAA National Tournament after reaching a ranking of 4th in the Midwest Region. The men’s squad, meanwhile, was ranked 6th in the region and just missed an at-large berth to the NCAA tourney despite winning the GLIAC postseason championship. In 2004 the Lady Dragon program posted an 11-6-1 mark while finishing 2nd in the American Mideast Conference and making it to the Region IX final four. In his initial campaign, after losing nine seniors and starting nine new players, he led the 2003 Dragons women’s soccer program to an 8-6-6 record, a 3rd place finish in the American Mideast Conference and also finished Runner-up in the Region IX Tournament. Brownell earned a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Tiffin University and also obtained a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from Tiffin University . He competed as defender for the Dragons from 1992-1995. Brownell also helped the Dragons capture the 1992 & 1995 AMC titles. Tiffin posted a 65-24-3 record during his career. The 1992 team also made it to the NAIA National Tournament. After graduation, Brownell played professionally for the Cleveland White Caps of the USISL in 1998. He was also assistant coach for the women’s and men’s soccer programs. He helped the women’s soccer program to four American Mideast Conference Championship crowns and to an 84-33-4 overall record. The Dragons went 45-2-1 in the AMC. The team was also ranked nationally from 1998-2000. The women’s team advanced to the region final four and also made it to the national tournament in 2000 and 2002. As the assistant coach for the men’s soccer program, he helped the team win the American Mideast Conference title in 1999, and take second place in 1996 and 2004. From 1996 to 2004 the team also posted a 116-62-13 overall record and made it to the region Final Four two out of the last three years.

Assistant Coach Matt Procopio Matt Procopio enters his first season as Assistant Coach for Tiffin University. Procopio recently finished his second season as assistant women’s soccer coach at Millersville. The Marauders finished with their best season in six years in 2012 and then improved again in 2013, posting the most wins since 2003. Procopio worked closely with defenders and goalkeepers and helped the team record nine shutouts in his first two years. in 2013, the Marauders allowed the fewest goals in a season (20) since the 2002 squad. Procopio, a West Lawn, Pa., native, was a defender for the Marauders from 2005-08, playing in 63 career games and starting 53 of them. As a senior, he co-captained the Marauders to a school-record 18 wins, a PSAC East Championship (12-0 record) and a second-straight appearance in the PSAC Tournament, a spot in the PSAC Championship game and a NCAA Atlantic Regional Championship. The Marauders achieved a No. 6 national ranking. He was named All-PSAC East Second Team, NSCAA/Adidas All-Atlantic Region Second Team, Daktronics All-Atlantic Region First Team and All-America honorable mention. Since graduating from Millersville in 2009 with a bachelor’s degree in technology education, Procopio has explored various coaching options in the game. He began his coaching career in the Maryland, Washington, D.C., Virginia areas working in various clubs and companies such as Braddock Road Youth Club (BRYC), Coerver Coaching and DC United. Following his experience on the east coast he moved to California to work in local clubs and leagues in the Silicon Valley. He also has worked with the Harrisburg City Islanders Youth Academy. Procopio currently holds a NSCAA Premier Diploma, USSF “C” License, USSF National Youth License, NSCAA Goalkeeping Level II Diploma and is a certified USA Weightlifting Level I Sports Performance Coach.

Dragons land 5 All-Region selections Tiffin University had five players selected to the 2013 NSCAA/Continental Tire NCAA Division II Men’s Midwest Region team. Their five selections tied Rockhurst for the most selections on the squad. Samuel Oki was the lone First Team pick for Tiffin. Smart Osadolor and Karl Jones were Second Team picks while Alex Tuliraba and Andre Carvalho-Landell were named to the Third Team. Tiffin University, GLIAC regular season co-champions, already had landed one player on the Daktronics All-Region team along with six All-Conference honors. Landell had 4 goals and 11 points for the Dragons in his first season with the team, while Oki and Osadolor led a defense that was the best in the GLIAC, allowing just 13 goals and posting a miniscule 0.77 GAA. Osadolor, a First Team Daktronics All-Region pick, also got in on the offensive action, finishing second on the team with 6 goals and 15 points. Jones led the team in goals with 7 and was also first in points with 15. Tuliraba, meanwhile, tied for the team lead in assists with 4. Osadolor named First Team Midwest Region Tiffin University’s Smart Osadolor was named Daktronics First Team All-Midwest Region as the All-Region men’s soccer teams were announced after vote of the region sports information directors. Osadolor had a stellar season at defender for Tiffin, finishing second on the team with 6 goals and 15 points. He helped lead the Dragons to a share of the GLIAC regular season championship while also guiding the Dragons to their first ever NCAA Regional appearance. Overall TU finished the season ranked second in the Midwest Region. Six Dragons land All-Conference honors Tiffin University, GLIAC regular season co-champions, landed six All-Conference honors as the GLIAC All-Conference team was announced after vote of the GLIAC coaches. Tiffin University Team Soccer Camps Our Academy ID Camp is only opened to the first 30 registrants and designed for the prospective student athlete ages 14 – 19 with aspirations of playing soccer at the collegiate level. Players will be exposed to college level training; specifically the technical and tactical training methods used by the Tiffin University Men’s Soccer Team. All participants will be given the opportunity to enhance their knowledge of the game and showcase their talents under the training instruction of the Tiffin University Men’s Soccer Head Coach Rudy Brownell and Assistant ining provided by Goalkeeper Coach Tony King Coach Matt Procopio with specific goalkeeper training King. Our mix of high intensity training in a competitive and fun environment on the beautiful grass fields of the Parasido Complex will give you a glimpse into life as a Tiffin Men’s Soccer player. Come train, showcase your talent in front our entire coaching staff, improve your skills and get a first-hand experience on our tremendous facilities, campus, meet our coaching staff, and current team members!

Paradiso Athletic Complex Tiffin University enjoys playing its home games at the Paradiso Athletic Complex. One of many attractive new facilities on display, the Paradiso Athletic Complex is one of the top soccer fields in the area. With new stadium bleacher seating, enclosed playing area, warmup fields, a large outfield electronic scoreboard, a new press box area, filming platforms, and team dugouts, the field offers the Tiffin University soccer teams a great place to call home. The field is just 1.5 miles from the Tiffin University campus and resides on 78 acres of land that also house all the outdoor athletics teams at TU. The Paradiso Athletic Complex debuted in the fall of 1997. Also included are two softball fields, Heminger field, two football practice fields, a Nature Preserve, and a developing outdoor track and field facility. Another new addition to the fields is the Athletic Fieldhouse. In addition, there is expanded parking accomodating hundreds of vehicles. An indoor practice facility is also in development nearby.
Soccer Facilities Heminger Center Th The latest addition to the campus, th the Heminger Center, features an in indoor track and field complex an and a 60x50 yard turf indoor pr practice facility. On One major portion of the buildin ing includes an indoor track and fo four multi-purpose courts that wi will be used for basketball, volle leyball, and tennis. The other la large portion has artificial turf an and will be used for practices by th the TU football, soccer, lacrosse, ba baseball, and softball teams, in ad addition to intramurals, club sp sports and other recreational activities. The middle section of the facility has coaches’ offices, locker rooms, an athletic training room, two classrooms, and a food court.
Physical Fitness Center TU also enjoys using the Tiffin University Physical Fitness Center, yet another recently expanded facility benefiting the student-athlete on TU’s ever-growing campus. The facility, which recently doubled in size, features a cutting-edge weight center that is continually upgraded with new equipment.
