Your little brother Johnny is in the second grade. He is perfectly bright, but for some reason he would rathe; tie two kitties' tails togeth er than to learn to spell "cat." He is quite a problem, but the FT A has the solution. Teacher should guide Johnny's interest in cats (which has already been wrongly stimulated) into the right channels. Johnny can be made to see how pretty Kitty's grey-and-white splotched fur is and to love to listen to the music of her hoarse purr. On our campus we have the John R. Matt Chapter of Future Teachers of America. Its purposes are to promote culture and uphold the dignity of the teaching profession. After active participation in this club, teachers are better prepared to take their places in the profession as living examples of "Character, Culture, Christ."
