RODNICK PHILLIPS An All-Western Athletic Conference selection. Finished his career ranked 14th among SMU’s career rushing leaders with 1,857 yards. Rushed for 1,115 yards in 1998 to become just the sixth SMU back to eclipse the 1,000-yard barrier in a season. Signed a free agent contract with the Seattle Seahawks in 2000. KYLE ROTE Outstanding all-around player who earned All-America recognition as a halfback in 1950. An All-SWC selection in 1949 and 1950. Twelfthleading rusher in school history (2,049). His 44.4-yard punting average in 1949 was the second-highest average in the nation and is the fifthhighest single-season average ever at SMU. First-round selection of the New York Giants in 1951. ALVIN MAXSON Three-time All-Southwest Conference first-team selection from 1971-73. Led the team in rushing for three consecutive seasons (1971-73).
