Dear St. Michael’s Community,

What does the Annual Appeal Fund?

My family and I feel truly blessed to be part of the larger St. Michael’s family, especially during 2014 when we celebrate the school’s 30-year anniversary. Surviving the last three decades would not have been possible for our institution without the overwhelming generosity of St. Michael’s families and friends like you. The Annual Appeal remains a vital part of sustaining our mission and ongoing growth. Your participation in this year’s Annual Appeal will help us continue the rich heritage of inspiring our students to excel.

THE ANNUAL APPEAL CLOSES THE FINANCIAL GAP TO SUPPORT:

“For the last 30 years, SMCA has been instrumental in my own faith journey–a journey inspired by exceptional teachers, administrators, staff, parents, and students. I am especially indebted to the students who have challenged and supported me throughout the years.” — George Waguespack SMCA teacher/faculty member for 30 years

Many companies match their employees’ gifts to non-profit institutions. SMCA will handle all the necessary paperwork to facilitate these matching gifts. Please ask your employer if your company provides matching gifts for charitable contributions.

“Attending St. Michael’s was one of the best decisions of my life. The tight-knit, Christ-like, and good character of the school is so genuine. I love St. Michael’s and cannot wait to continue my high school career here.” – Lillian G. Lucero Class of 2018

“The St. Michael’s community fosters an atmosphere where students grow both spiritually and intellectually. SMCA has given me the confidence to make a difference in my community.” — Roberto Arguello Student Body President, Class of 2015

Mr. George Waguespack (Mr. Wag) is very special to the SMCA community. As one of our original faculty members, he has served in many roles, including Dean of Students, and as a theology and biology teacher. Even after 30 years, Mr. Wag remains dedicated to our school’s mission and our students. In fact, he has never missed a home football game! Mr. Wag has witnessed many changes throughout the decades, ranging from fast food lunches in the gym to a full service cafeteria, a staff of seven teachers that has grown to over 40, and decorated cardboard boxes for student storage to locker-lined hallways.

“It amazes me to see how much past students have grown and changed,” he says. “It is truly wonderful to hear their success stories. It reminds me to be patient and stay connected with our students. They are kids while they are here, and I will always believe in them.” Thank you for your dedication to St. Michael’s and our students, Mr. Wag. We appreciate you!

Keep St. Michael’s Inspiring Students.
