[ MY DESIGN PHILOSOPHY ]

Resonance + Reflection The built environment has the ability to affect people beyond the scope of the physical realm. Designers have the responsibility to create an environment that is conscious of it’s psychological, sociological, economical, and political influences on the occupants and society as a whole. Upon understanding the complex connection between people and the built world, these influential factors can be used to design spaces that promote positivity, productivity, and overall compatibility with the user and it’s intended purpose. Like great artists striving to evoke empathy through their works; great designers should aim to create spaces that draw on the user’s traits, work habits, and goals to encourage them to be the best version of his/her self.

A successful design resonates with its users.

THE SCHOLAR’S STUDY

Ambition is a decision to pursue new heights. It starts when one grounds their self into the essence of their history and persona to first understand where they fall short. Challenges then arise as hurdles of new environments, subjects, and grading systems for the individual to accept and overcome. For the average post-secondary student, these obstacles may feel overwhelming and difficult to manage at times. The pursuit of knowledge is never easy however, if one puts forth their best efforts to create the future they desire, it is more than possible to surmount such circumstances. The Scholar's Study is a residential design configured to host an ambitious individual who strategically balances schoolwork, relaxation, and entertainment within his/her hectic schedule.

hospitality All together.

Mamawi (maa-mu-wi) translates “all together in a group in the language of the Saulteau First Nations Cree. The name is linked to the concept of the Medicine Wheel (also known as, the Four Directions) as a representation of Native culture as a whole.

The inspiration behind the Display Columns comes from the columns in Kharayeb Archeological Museum (KAM) in Lebanon (image below). However, the concept of Mamawi’s columns includes the provision of additional light and heat mechanisms to warm the atmosphere of the restaurant.

retail Transcendence.

Transcendence is defined as something that surpasses the ordinary; the creation of something beautiful. By taking a moment to pause and focus on the details of his designs, Giorgio Armani reinforces his presence in the fashion world with signature pieces that transcend the norms and expectations of the industry.

corporate Brace for impact. Echo Advertising Co. is a dynamic corporation founded on teamwork, passion and hard work to create truly engaging and powerful advertisements that speak to the target audience. The concept originates from the process of capturing and creating a panorama; a collection of images arranged in sequence to produce an overall landscape of the subject. Each image is a snapshot of the bigger picture and contributes to depicting its own perspective of the focus. Similarly, each individual involved in Echo’s projects provides their own take on the product or service being advertised. By combining and overlapping the team’s ideas together, the overall performance of Echo’s advertisements improve greatly by evolving them from individual perspectives to award-winning panoramas.
