Mr. Steve Georgevitch, Chair-Elect The Board of the Center for Supply Chain Management Studies at Saint Louis University elected Mr. Steve Georgevitch, from the Boeing Company, as Chair-Elect. He will serve along with Mr. Gary Welker, current Chair of the Board, until the end of Mr. Welker’s term, when he will assume the Chair position in 2014. The Center leadership and his fellow Board members are looking forward to working with Mr. Georgevitch. Steve Georgevitch leads the Supply Chain Design organization within Boeing’s Global Services & Support Supply Chain Management organization. In this role, Mr. Georgevitch supports the development of integrated logistics and operations capabilities to support global military customers with supply chain management solutions. Prior to his current role, Georgevitch supported the establishment of a Logistics Command & Control business practice in Boeing’s Defense & Government Services business and played a key role in the strategic acquisitions necessary to support that market. With more than twenty-five years of aerospace operations and supply chain management experience, Mr. Georgevitch has worked closely with the U.S. Department of Defense in the areas of Automated Identification Technology and Total Life Cycle Support, including industry leadership roles in the support of DoD policies in Radio Frequency Identification and Unique Item Identification. In addition, Georgevitch has extensive experience in enterprise business solutions, including the implementation of Enterprise Resource Planning and Enterprise Asset Management systems. Mr. Georgevitch is a Suma Cum Laude graduate of Saint Louis University with a Bachelor of Arts in Organizational Management with an emphasis in Contract Management. He is active on the Executive Board and Steering Team of Saint Louis University’s Supply Chain Management Center and is the Chair of the Executive Advisory Board for Saint Louis University’s School for Professional Studies. He is Vice Chair of the Industry Advisory Board of the Center for Engineering & Logistics Distribution (CELDi), Chairman of the Supply Chain Council, a member of the National Defense Transportation Association, as well as a member of the Council for Supply Chain Management Professionals.

Mr. Georgevitch holds certifications in Lean Manufacturing from the University of Kentucky, as well as a certificate in Advanced Supply Chain Management Studies at Saint Louis University.
The 2012 Distinguished Guest Speaker Series Guest Speaker General William Fraser, III, USAF The Center’s Distinguished Speaker Series is an annual event that brings to our Center members and our CSCMS community leaders from military and government, academia, and business to provide perspectives on supply chain and related topics that affect our industry and our the way forward as a profession. We are honored to welcome General William Fraser, III, Commander at the United States Transportation Command on Nov. 15, 2012 to the St. Francis Xavier (College Church) Ballroom, Grand Ave. at Lindell Blvd. You may register for this event by clicking here.

Professional Development Courses in November, 2012 The following courses will be offered in November, 2012. All courses are in Cook Hall Room 230 in the Cook School of Business at Saint Louis University
Transportation and Warehousing Management November 15 and 16, 2012 Topics include: • Gaining an understanding of current issues in transportation and warehousing • Learning concepts and principles that can improve operations • Providing tools and developing a mindset for continuous improvement in transportation and warehousing • Ensuring that total logistics costs are considered in supply chain analysis • How Collaborative Transportation Management can provide improved performance
Change Management in Supply Chain Operations November 29 & 30, 2012 Topics include: • How to effectively manage change, including analyzing and involving key stakeholders • How to gauge the impact of changes on the organization • How to plan communication to support changes • How to design processes to sustain the change

Meet the 2012-2013 Scholarship Winners! The Center awards more than $10,000 in scholarships annually to those who demonstrate potential leadership in the supply chain management field. The recipients were selected by a panel of experts from supply chain areas and recommended to the Center for the final decision. This academic year, five students were selected for the scholarship and we are pleased to introduce them to you. Paul Boggmann - Advisory Board Scholarship

Paul is a graduate of the College of the Holy Cross with a Bachelor of Arts in History. Before entering the Masters of Business Administration at Saint Louis University, he spent a year working as a Supply Chain Analyst at a small independent truck parts distributor in St. Louis. He will be graduating with a concentration in Supply Chain Management. Russell Bates – Center Scholarship
Russell graduated from the University of Missouri - Columbia with a BSBA in Marketing. Upon graduation, he went to work for the largest distribution company of music and movie products (cds/dvds/blu-ray) in the country. Currently, he is a full-time 5
MBA student with an emphasis in Supply Chain Management who is interested in global sourcing, procurement, and supplier relationship management. Areas of focus include analytics, supplier management, and team leadership. Jishuai Ma – Energizer Scholarship
Jishuai is currently a student in the Master of Science in the Supply Chain Management program at Saint Louis University. He was an intern at Access Courier this past summer and gained valuable experience regarding how an American company operates. He gained business development and operation skills, learned to perform effectively under pressure and developed a capability to make decisions in the absence of complete information. He has a strong interest in studying how to utilize supply chain management and finance. Daniel Cziperle – Nestle Purina Scholarship
Daniel’s objective in studying supply chain management is to contribute to solving the myriad of inefficiencies in the health care delivery system. He is a current MBA (Supply Chain Emphasis) and MHA dual-degree student. He holds a B.S., Health Information Management from Saint Louis University and is a Registered Health Information Administrator. His experience includes materials management for a regional health system, scientific medical research, marketing for a leading beverage company, and medical missions abroad.

Supreeya (Sonya) Setthameteekul - Hamilton-Colombo Supply Chain Management Scholarship
Sonya is a candidate for a Master of Science in Supply Chain Management at Saint Louis University (expected graduation May 2013). Previously a tax consultant at Pricewaterhouse Coopers, she was responsible for customs duty and international trade disputes. Sonya has a Bachelor’s degree in Economics who majored in industrial economics and international trade economics. She served as a Summer Business Analyst intern at Asynchrony Solutions. She is an ASQ-Certified Six-Sigma Green Belt and also has expertise in Harmonized System Code interpretations (GRI – General Rule of Interpretation).
