n God continued to add people to the church as we expanded our Sunday School and Soulwinning efforts. (see page 3) n “The Children’s Gospel Hour” – our Afternoon Sunday School had 187 professions of faith for the year and a high attendance day of 300. n The Gordons were sent out of our church as Church Planting Missionaries to Canada. n Our Annual World Mission Conference with Dr. Danny Whetstone was very well attended with people professing faith in Christ during the evening services. n Through our Dry Fork Christian Camp ministry and several Spirit-filled guest preachers, we had six exciting weeks of summer camp with many teens and juniors trusting Christ and yielding their lives to Him.
& Mrs. Kevin Broyhill, and hosted the Regional Bible Truth Music Conference with Evangelist Byron Foxx. n Though each family member received broken bones, God mercifully spared the Tor Kilstrom family as they were hit head-on in a very serious traffic accident. n Shining Light Inspirations – “Preaching Through Prints” took the next step of being made available on a larger scale. n The Lord gave Pastor Cruse the opportunity to influence many young people as the guest preacher for the National Youth Conference in Rockhampton, Australia.
As a teenager, I wanted to be a college basketball coach. I loved to play sports and enjoyed the challenge of rallying my teammates to work together and to give their all. On March 7, 2010, by God’s grace I will have completed twenty years as Pastor of Shining Light Baptist Church. If God allows me to pastor twenty years more, we are at half-time. It’s time to make any necessary adjustments so we can finish the second half strong.
Please pray for the life and ministry of our church that we will aggressively pursue and accomplish the work God has for us to do in making a positive difference in our community!

n The Central Carolina Back-To-School Rally with Pastor Kurt Skelly registered 181 teenagers. Where Faith and Friends Meet
n Our Academy logged a record enrollment of 140 students – won it’s first Boy’s Basketball State Championship with two First Team All-State players and Coach of the Year – rejoiced in having the Brass Instrument National Champion, the State First Place Junior High Male Vocalist and a spectacular Christmas program. n After ten years of waiting, we were able to start providing Christian Family Radio 88.1 FM to our city and county. n We enjoyed a sweet Sweetheart Banquet with Pastor
n God blessed Pastor Rob Carlson as he preached during our joint Thanksgiving Revival with Tabernacle and Faith Baptist. n We were given a ton (2,000 lbs.!) of canned goods from the Monroe Aquatic & Fitness Center and several boxes of canned goods from Citizens South Bank to distribute to families in need during the Christmas Season. n Our chapel ministries (retirement homes, jail, men’s & women’s shelters, school campuses) continued to expand with many receiving help and hope as a number of them professed faith in Christ.
