Flicker is a unique live show commissioned especially for the festival. It combines the astounding physical comedy of the Umbilical Brothers with the musical brilliance of pianist Neil Brand. The Umbies hit New York show THWAK ran for almost a year offBroadway. Neil has accompanied silent films for nearly 20 years and has composed more than 70 musical scores for the BBC. This never-before-seen live silent movie offers a rare opportunity to see the extraordinary comic talents of three world class performers.

Last year Neil Brand delighted audiences with his live piano accompaniment to Buster Keaton’s masterpiece The General. This year he’s back with Keaton’s most influential and daring film Steamboat Bill, Jr. The best way to enjoy any silent film is to experience it as it was originally intended and Neil brings the last true Buster Keaton film to life with passion and talent. Prepare to be transported back in time to the wonderful era of classic silent films.
