love note There's something about the change of the season that is magical. With the cleaning out of the closets and the approach of the holidays, there's also the part where we sit and reflect. Maybe it's the thinking about what fall fashion to wear to work that leads to the thoughts of our own goals and journey? Something about those new boots makes you wonder where they will lead you.

Thankfully, my journey into blogging has lead me to, what I think is, my most important epiphany with this brand. I've tried for so long to solve the riddle, what does the average plus size woman care about, afterall, I'm her? What does she want to read about? How can we offer better content? Thankfully my few months away from the magazine, lead me directly to my answer; Bloggers. Never someone to follow a trend with business, I decided to dedicate this magazine to the very women who I feel represent and shape the plus style world, the plus size style bloggers. And, I think the launch of our debut real style issue said it all! It was our largest issue since 2007 with over 25,000 views, making it the most viewed digital plus magazine for the month. I know we are on to something amazing, and it's YOU.

AVENUE FASHION’S NIGHT OUT Avenue, the specialty store style advocate for real size women, hosted an exclusive Fashion’s Night Out event at their Third Ave., New York store on September 8th. The event included a fashion show and shopping event as well as appearances by Brooke Elliott, star of Lifetime’s hit series, Drop Dead Diva, and fashion expert, Jacqui Stafford. The champagne and hors d’oeuvres kicked off at 6pm, followed by raffle drawings and preview of Avenue’s Fall Collection. Some of our fellow bloggers were in attendance, including Elisa from Mad

On Saturday, September 17, 2011, I hosted my birthday party and a fashion show at the Ashley Stewart store here in Richmond, VA. All of my family, friends and model buddies came out to support this event. I put together 21 looks on 7 models from the new Fall collection from Ashley Stewart. The show went perfect. My DJ, J-Roc, had the house jumping from the moment customers walked into the store and once we got started my commentator, Earl “Christmas Snow” Fleming, hyped up the crowd even more. I had models & hostesses’ come from as far as Baltimore, Northern Virginia to the Hampton Roads area to participate in this event. (Special
thank you to TJ, Quan, Twannet, Kim, Autumn, Nellonda, Manaya, Crystal & LaTonya). Since the theme for Ashley Stewart this season is “Passport to Fashion”, I divided the show into 3 parts, each one representing a different city. Scene One was Paris, Scene Two was London and Scene Three was New York. The Paris scene was filled with hues of grey and black to represent the old classic look of the city. For London I had bold bright colors to bring out the essence of “royalty”. Lastly for the New York scene I went for daring ensembles that you would see fashionistas wearing from Times Square to Madison Square Garden.
