Destined For The Main Stage
The Big Pill
Big band neo-funk, equipped with brass, a dynamic vocalist/drummer in Joey K., and the kind of set list that pieces elements of soul, funk, hip-hop, and rock in a way that sweats with style, The Big Pill is a local band that has gone on hiatus – but needs to come back. Heed the call fellas, you are missed.

Kele Okereke The Boxer
Label: Glassnote Available On: June 22nd As the frontman for the genre bending UK sensation, Bloc Party, Kele Okereke is taking his musical prowess and going at it solo for the first time with The Boxer. In much the same fashion , Kele manages to stay true to his tendency to incite dancable tunes, but does so with a real sense of dramatics. The songs aren’t mindless dance pop, they work for the car ride, the club, or the desktop. Most solo efforts are met with a smurk, not this one.

Championed by record store junkies and music snobs alike, Gaslight Anthem have not only earned unanimous praise for their take on Amercian rock music, but back up the hype. Brian Fallon shines once again with a record that is both intelligent and sonically solid from beginning to end. Crucial buy.
With guest spots from the likes of R. Kelly, LMFAO, 3OH3!, David Guetta, Soulja Boy, The Game, and Elephant Man, the real question isn’t going to be if this record is good, but how many singles the club will pick up. Jon is the catalyst when it comes to loud beats, expect no less from this record and get ready to go bananas when the needle drops.

authority Zero
In a sea of shitty bands that all claim to harness rock n rock volume and punk rock pull, Lady Sinatra steps onstage and actually delivers. Belting out 3-minute bursts all out distortion, laced with a little foul-mouthed wisdom, this LA-based foursome has no problem convince the crowd.
As the first release under VIKING FUNERAL, the new imprint from Pennywise’s Flecther Dragge, this potent combination of ska, reggae, and socially saavy punk rock is a firm reminder why Authority Zer have retained their respect in the scene over the years. The first release for AZ since 2007, the wait was worth it.
Drops: June 22nd
There are few bands that have the combination of good taste and true talent. Performing a timeless collection of ska, reggae, and dub tunes along with their own brand of danceable tracks, The FuDogs are helping to push the revival of ska music to promising new directions.
