Safety It’s natural that safety is an important theme at every school. Our take on it is both positive and proactive. Aligning to our behaviour management policy, students are regularly given encouragement through our visual merit system, which sees achievement rewarded at special assemblies held throughout the year. Often linked to safety, developing the ability to be reflective of the choices they make, and their impact on others sets a proactive school tone. Positive reinforcement that recognises students’ achievement over and beyond the academics links to our community award trophy given to one lucky person from each class at year’s end. As a staff, we update our emergency procedures annually, executing fire drills and evacuations with students to be best prepared should we ever face such a situation. First Aid courses are typically cyclic in nature and aim to keep staff abreast of current techniques to ensure our students remain safe. This year, we’ve refreshed our knowledge during the week prior to school commencing on “first step” actions when children are injured. At SIS Rotkreuz-Zug, we’ll continue to embrace these values long into the future.
