When you donate to the Sioux Falls Family YMCA, you make our community better through programs focused on: Youth Development Dear Camp Director, Leif Ericson Day Camp has been a “game changer” for my kids. They were able to attend last year and they honestly haven’t stopped talking about it, singing the songs, or asking when it starts again ever since the last day of it. They went in apprehensive about it the first day. They were scared and knew no one. I have been through a horrible divorce, which has left my kids pretty untrusting of things. They got off the bus the first year and were fighting for “air time” in the van telling me about it. I emailed Mike again this year because the cost of Camp is just not something I can do as a single mom with no help. I work for the school district and am off work in the summer and work as many hours as I can at my part time job all year long as well. It’s just really hard, super hard in fact. My kids miss a lot of stuff all year long because they know I just can’t afford all the stuff their friends can. This camp however, they would be devastated to miss. I feel like God brought this camp to my kids at just the right point in their lives. Even more so, I feel very blessed that there is financial help for them. Thanks so much“Camper Mom”
