I got my cup of tea ready and I thought we could review the sims 4 in general. What do you like or dislike about the game? What would you change if you had the chance? I actually like the game, I like the interactions between the sims, I like how they walk around angry and slam doors and stuff. Haha just like real life, I mean who has never slammed a door ???

Gots my coffee, I actually really want a cup that says that. LOL. Anyway, my thoughts on The Sims 4. Well it is a step backwards in my honest opinion. To me it's like they spent the past 5 or so years improving on the sim themselves, but when it got down to the brass tacks and EA went to Maxis and asked about how they were coming along...well this is how I think that morning meeting went.

The Sims 4 is coming along great. The emotions are in place and they will literally bring the sims to life like never before. We don't anticipate any problems so yes we are a go for launch on the expected date." "Well that's wonderful to hear. Now how about the rest of the game?" "Wait. What?" "You know, worlds, homes etc." "Oh dear. We didn't figure those in. We just got so caught up on bringing the sims themselves to life that we..." "We can't launch this as is. This is where it takes a step back...way back. I don't mind the loading screens, they kind of grow on you after a while. But I sure do miss the open world we had in TS3. We got kind of spoiled there. I love the different wall heights and that we can stagger the window, do different things with the roofs, in build mode. The clothing that came with TS4, are okay, but we didn't get a whole lot. I miss the CASt tool! If I had the chance to change anything, I would find a way to take some of the good from both TS3 and TS4 and mash them together. Then you'd have one kicka** game, in my opinion. Want a cake? I brought some
You know Mj, I was following along nicely with what you were saying...then....you started talking about building stuff, wall heights etc....and well I was lost at that point, haha, as you know I dont build, I know how to, I even try to at times but then it sort of still looks like a box with smaller boxes inside. is much better, and the fact they started of cartoony didnt bother me. Now thanks to the awesome creators we have skins, eyes, hair, make-up, eyebrows and even eye lashes to make them look more real. I know they dont look totally real but you know what I mean. I actually really like the clothes, there is a lot more to choose from but yes, I miss the color wheel, the patterns and stuff. If I wanted a tank top in sims 3 with flowers on it I could use a base game one and add in the pattern, but now...urgggh, i have to search or make one. Now thats all fine and dandy as I am addicted to CC anyway but it would have been so much easier to add the pattern myself in cas and not have 30 different tanks clogging up my game. Did that make sense or am I rambling, oooh my tea's gone cold, time for a fresh one, lucky I brought a tea pot with me.

I find I am drawn to making sims more now. With sims 3 I was into all sorts of stuff. With sims 4 though, its so much easier to make sims that look unique, I absolutely love the slider feature with the push n pull. Whoever sorted that out needs an award haha. As I said that I have to make stuff now if I want a certain pattern (and I havent been able to find elsewhere) with the aid of sims 4 studio, I say that again SIMS 4 STUDIO, just in case you didnt hear me (haha shameless plug) it is much easier to make stuff than before dont you agree? Oh and I brought my pot of coffee...well actually the WHOLE maker...and another pot, you know just in case one isn't enough.
I totally agree with you on the sliders. It was an ingenious idea to incorporate them into the game! Less mods for me to have to stuff into my game, the happier I am. It leaves more room...ahem, maybe, providing that pesky NO COOKING glitch don't show up because of too much CC, to put more CC in.
Now to continue on, now that little Emmett is back off into slumber land for a few minutes, anyway. LOL. YES! S4S or SIMS4STUDIO is the best tool out there! I absolutely love using it and find it much, much more easier to use. Bravo to the everyone over at Sims 4 Studio for making such an outstanding tool. The fact that they are continually improving it, makes this tool the
number 1 tool for any CC creator and creators who want to make poses for The Sims 4! I find myself doing a little bit of everything. Dabbling in CAS, build, recolors and now my newest dibble dabble are poses. At the moment I'm not sure how much of that I will do, as right now they are all default poses and blender is just such a pain in the keister. It is easy to use once you get used to it, but still a pain never-the-less. Haha. Having all the wonderful CC out there especially skins and hair/facial, they are getting better and better everyday as everyone is figuring this game out, does take the cartoony look away. I think if they didn't let the hair look so plastic when they (MAXIS) made it, then the whole cartoon look wouldn't have happened. I think that, along with some other issues, the fact that all you read on twitter, facebook and on the Officials is just about every player out there is P.O about one thing or another, has made some potential players back away. (It also doesn't help when you give a game that is barely out of diapers a free play pass for 48 hours and then beg on twitter (I mean that literally) for people to download it, play it and then give feed back whether they buy it or not. Ok so i will start off with CAS Mode. 1, First of all I like how everything loads up quick. 2, I like how easy it is to create a Sim with the new pull sliders. 3, I like the new walk styles. 4, I like the Sims 4 clothing much more than Sims 3. It looks more real to life. 5, I like the Sims muscle tone and weight sliders more. 6, I don't like the base game hair at all. It looks too cartoony. 7, I don't like that there is no colour wheel for changing the hair colour. 8, I don't like that there is no colour wheel for changing the skin tone. 9, I don't like that there is no colour wheel for changing the clothing colour or patterns. 10, I don't like the share options for your creations. I liked the Sims 3 way more. 11, I don't like that there is no game launcher for installing CC. I liked it in the sims 3 more. easier to install and export creations. 12, I like the gallery option, but i don't like that you have to go all over the place to download all the CC used on them. Bring back pack files. 13, I really like the new building mode. easier to build houses. I like the way you can just click and pick up any room and move the whole thing. and the same with the roofs. 14, I don't like the camera controls for moving around the screen. I know there is a sims 3 option, but it's not the same. 15, Although the display and controls at the bottom of the screen in game or build mode are ok, But i liked the sims 3 more. 16, Needs more curtains and blinds to go with the window styles. 17, I like the new wall, window and foundation heights. 18, I don't like any of the Worlds, They look too cartoony. and they need more empty lots to build on. And the Worlds need to be bigger. 19, I don't like that your Sims can't walk down the road to visit friends, family or a shop like in the sims 3.

So it's a shame to say it's a rip off. And I don't play the thing at all. I’ve made a few sims and that's it for me. I'm a Sims 3 creator and player until they do something about it to improve things. Bring on Sims 5. they might even get it right. But don't hold your breath. AMEN Jack! I agree with 99% of everything you just said. Except for the not playing the game, I do play it or I at least give it an honest try. LOL I find myself getting so bored after about 15 minutes into game play then I'm like "Okay, what kind of house can I build." So it's off to building a home. I have really really really tried hard to get into my normal game play only, no building, no creating sims to share, no creating CC, but I just can't stay focused because, like I said, 15 minutes into game play and I'm bored. The community places just... don't... cut it. I hate the gallery. When I go in there and see all these sims with CC on them and not one person has the respect or consideration to credit those creators! All they do is put in #nocc, if that even. Um excuse me but that isn't good enough. My thoughts on possible Sims 5? ONLY if MAXIS isn't involved will it get any better.

asking for their money back. Can they do that? I mean I know I like it in parts, and islike it in other aspects but I dont think I will give up on it just yet. You never know it ay improve. Think back to sims 3 when it 1st came out and a lot of simmers were like, ont like it, I miss this or that from sims 2, then ""BOOM"" sims 3 took off. I mean I cant member ever getting bored with sims 3, the sim making was always my biggest thing, ill is with sims 4. I am getting off track here, ok, back up and get back into stride .....On our likes and dislikes Jack honey... I think I agree with everything you said. I do have to y though with the creators and modders out there surely it has to improve? Now as for axis, I personally think they need to back away from the sims haha. Either that or take a look at what WE want. The simming community or should I say the majority of the ommunity would set them straight. All they need to do is visit some places like TSR & TS to name just 2 of the biggest places, if they done that they would understand what kind of sims we want to play. They should employ simmers as creative designers, you now people who actually play the game on a regular basis. They should get together a umber of players to talk through what kind of worlds we want to see etc etc etc. I too bsolutely without a doubt HATE, the gallery. I dont use it, I dont even look to see what people are creating. Now I hated the exchange on sims 3 also but I would rather something like that was in place instead of the gallery. As for Sims 5, I think it might come out sooner rather than later, but they really need to get to grips with the whole aspect of the game.
You're pretty much right Ina. Sims 4 isn't doing as well as they (MAXIS) hoped it would and that is in part of the shoddy way they threw it together. Like in my first post, they concentrated so hard on making the sims seem more alive by doing the emotions bit, but they simply forgot about the rest of the game! I do agree that just like when TS3 came out, everyone hated it, I'm sure it was the same way when TS2 came out. I keep telling myself, "It's only a base game, it's only a base game." LOL. I'm really hoping that in time, just like its predecessors, it will get better. I hate to think I wasted 80 bucks on a game that goes nowhere. People who do get Sims 4 can return it but I imagine they only have like 30 days. Origin does have that "Guarantee" if you don't like it, return it for a full refund. I think that's why the did the Free play trial, to try to boost up the sales and hopefully maybe bring new players on board. I don't hink Sims 5 will be coming all that soon, I think it was SimGuruGrant who said that if Sims 4 doesn't sell, don't be looking for a 5. If memory serves me right, TS2 ran for 5 years and TS3 went for 4 years. No there hasn't been any rumors about toddlers coming back, only speculation. One person on the How old will I be in 2020 forum tried saying they would be coming with this (50ish) and I will still be months patch, but yeah I don't think that will playing sims hopefully. You happen. I might at some point do some building and sim creating but that's as far as it go's. So i'm on the reserve list to. It also needs some different way of sharing your creations. ie Sims4Packs we need the export folder back. :) Hands that do dishes can be soft as your face with‌mild green Fairy Liquid‌..LOL
I think I'm on the reserve list, I honestly can't say a thumbs up or down. Me too, I like a lot about the game but wish there was more to it, so yep on the reserve list Thank you guys for the feedback, now let me clear away the left overs and wash up the cups. Time to get to work.
