Welcome to the Grand Pacific… It has been a busy year for the Executive Committee, a year of preparing for change. In just a little more than a year, Sue will step down as Executive Secretary and become the Assistant Secretary. With that in mind, much of our discussion and effort has been centered on planning the selection process for a new Executive Secretary. The job description and application form are posted on our website. This year’s Grand Pacific will have many of the activities and games of past Grands, with a few changes. The salmon barbecue by the Casino group is returning. There will be a day to tie-dye, again taught by Leslie Thomas. The sub-gauge competition this year will be a registered event. It will be held Tuesday after shoot-offs and will include 50-bird events. We hope many clubs will continue offering registered sub-gauge events in conjunction with the Winter Multiplex shoots. At this time we are not certain how high the interest level is in sub-gauge registered trap but perhaps by starting with the Multiplex we might ease into it. Let us know what you think of this, and then after you have tried it a few times, let us know again! There is another change happening in the near future. Jennifer Carter will be leaving our EC at the end of the 2015 Grand. Jen has been a part of the Executive Committee since 2006. She served as president for three years and has always worked to do what is best for the PITA. I will miss her direct questions and thoughtful comments during our meetings. Her support and advice has been so very valuable to me during my time on the EC. Thank you for the honor of serving as your PITA president. My term as president ends this year, but I will stay on as past president. It has been fun (usually!) working with all the various committee members over the years, and with Sue and Rusty. The best part of this job has been the chance to visit with and get to know so many of you. I admire and appreciate all the volunteers who serve on the State/Provincial and club boards. Thank you to all who work throughout the year and during this week to make the Grand Pacific efficient, safe, and fun. Attendance and participation was up 16% last year! Make plans to join us at Evergreen Sportsmen’s Club the last week of July. Come and see why people talk about having such a great time at the Grand Pacific! (Arrive a day or two early and we’ll let you help get things ready for action!) As always, I wish you good shooting and much laughter. Stay safe! Nadene Pope, President ~1~

President’s Message ~ Evergreen Sportsmen's Club PITA Shooters, It is with great pleasure that Evergreen Sportsmen’s Club invites and welcomes you to the Grand Pacific held at Evergreen Sportsmen’s Club. We look forward to seeing those who are returning and meeting those who are new. ESC is honored and excited to be your hosts this year. Our hope is that you enjoy both the Grand Pacific and your stay with us. Our staff is committed to the success of this shoot and is already working diligently to make sure it runs smoothly. We are proud of our staff, and can honestly say that we don’t think you will find better anywhere else. Their goal before July is to ensure you have the opportunity to excel. The dance team is returning this year to continue their tradition of scoring. They placed well both at the state and national levels this year. Take a moment to congratulate them, and maybe give them a high five. Scott, Kelly and Stacy will be out on the line, making sure everything is running smoothly. Be sure to thank them for their hard work (if they are able to slow down enough to hear you). Laura and Monique will be holding down the front office. If you are wanting practice rounds or ammo, they are the ones to see. Our board members will be available if you have questions. Some changes to state law this year require changes to our club, as well. Sadly, the law passed in 2014 requires private buyers and sellers to conduct firearms transactions through a federally licensed firearm dealer (FFL). With that said, the Evergreen Sportsmen’s Club cannot allow firearms transactions on its grounds without an FFL present to do a background check. May you all shoot 100 straight. Mark Downing President ESC ~3~

Each member of the winning team receives a range bag designating them as a Grand Pacific Singles Team Champion. A shooter’s class will be as initially handicapped at the 2015 Grand Pacific Tournament. Shooters must be residents of the State/Province for which they are competing with the exception of D class. If a D class shooter from a State/Province is not available a D class shooter from another State or Province can be substituted (floater). If a team cannot be formed because a shooter is not available in a certain class, a shooter of a lower class may be substituted. Example: Class A shooter is not available, a Class B, C, or D shooter may substitute for the missing class, (a Class AA shooter cannot substitute for an A shooter, etc.). Each shooter can be a member of only one team.
