TECHNICAL FEATURES

NRX

… it’s about the product, performance, people and their passion for excellence.

Director of Engineering, Steve Rajeff is an avid angler and fly fishing instructor. He has an intimate knowledge of blank/rod design. He is 36 time U.S. All-Around Casting Champion and 14 times World Champion. The G.Loomis factory team provides valuable input based on many years of fishing experience, with a passion for the difference between a good rod and a great rod! The factory, located in Woodland, Washington, USA, utilises custom-built equipment with precise tolerances and capabilities that allow G.Loomis to design, develop and manufacture products with the highest “strength-to-weight ratio” in the industry. The production employees share a passion to make the very best high performance graphite fishing rods in the world. Long-time relationships with the top graphite companies give us the ability to develop and obtain special, high performance materials. Our species and technique-specific rod designs allow G.Loomis to showcase design & material advantages which appeals to the niche angler. This helps us to organize rod ranges into recognisable, easily identifiable and more “user-friendly” families, creating credibility as well as a connection with fanatical anglers world-wide. Our goals are to maintain a strong competitive advantage by developing new, exciting materials and high performance products, while expanding our technique and species specific product ranges for niche markets and fisheries. The bottom line… G.LOOMIS WILL NEVER SETTLE FOR GOOD ENOUGH!

GLX, with it’s extreme light weight and remarkable castability, has been our flagship technology.... but NRX changes all that! After many years of research, hard work and continual technological improvements, our new and most dynamic rod technology incorporates all the basic elements that make great fly & salmon rods…high modulus graphite, great tapers, the finest components, along with a new resin system. Th is, along with Steve Rajeff ’s design ability helped us create an insanely lightweight, ultra-high performance series rods. Thanks to our proprietary new “Nano Resin” Technology, NRX fly rods are as much as 15 to 20% lighter than their GLX counterparts and as much as 25% stronger! Imagine, a 9’ #8 NRX fly rod is about the same weight as a 9’ #6 GLX, yet it casts further and more efficiently with a lot less effort! With such incredible weight reduction, all the energy you develop in the casting stroke goes directly to the line.

GLX

For starters these rods are 25% lighter than rods of comparable strength, which you will notice as soon as you take the rod from the car and carry it to the bank side. Once rigged, you will find the fast action, medium/stiff to stiff and progressive tapers help you throw out beautiful high-speed loops with new found ease. After one of these beautiful casts, you will get the opportunity to enjoy its incredibly sensitive tip while fighting the fish you couldn’t quite reach before. It may seem presumptive to suggest you can’t experience this with someone else’s fly rod, but quite frankly no other rod maker has GLX graphite. Not even close. Basically, whether you are an expert fly angler who wants every last bit of his ability to shine through, or an intermediate angler who wants to improve his abilities practically overnight, the GLX is the rod you need. In 1993 G. Loomis introduced GLX, the ultimate performance fishing tool, which was fi rst offered in our fly rod line up, and then shortly after expanded into our casting and spinning rods. In collaboration with the leading USA carbon fibre manufacturer, a custom ultra high strength high modulus fibre is engineered specifically for fishing rod applications. Combined with new mandrel tapers to optimize the new fibres, it creates the ultimate lightweight, sensitive, and best casting rod EVER!

IMX

Serious Anglers with state of the art equipment know that a great rod is essential, and that’s why you find people all over the world fishing IMX rods. It was the IMX breakthrough that put G. Loomis on the map, and it’s no secret why. Their high modulus graphite makes them extremely sensitive, giving you a “picture” of what the lure is doing every inch of your retrieve. You’ll feel every rock, every bush, every weed, every twitch your bait makes, and when the subtle take occurs, it will feel like the biggest vacuum in the world just sucked in your bait. It’s hard to describe, but easy to appreciate. And talk about strong... you can haul in the meanest underwater critters from the heaviest cover with minimal effort. Incredibly, however, they’re some of the lightest rods on the market so you can fish day after day without fear of your casting arm committing mutiny. Distance, accuracy, sensitivity, strength, these rods truly have it all. Apart from our GLX, there’s not a rod anywhere that can outperform an IMX. Guide types In 2003, with our introduction of CrossCurrent Fly rods we debuted a new guide called RECOIL. RECOIL guides are made from a special nickel titanium alloy with unique physical properties which match perfectly with the rod blank. Until now, fishing rod guides have been plated or have used ceramic inserts to provide wear resistance. RECOIL guides are made from an extremely hard but flexible “Shape Memory” alloy, which does not require plating, cannot corrode in any environment, and returns or “RECOILs” to its original shape after repeated deformations. We use RECOILs on every new fly or cast / spin GLX rod that we build. The properties match up perfectly with our GLX rods and with additional weight reduction and sensitivity it only makes a GLX rod that much better! Having no inserts means that the inner ring cannot pop out, which could happen with conventional guides, meaning that you don’t have to stop fishing. Note - On Roaring River Greased Line rods the guides are Hopkins & Holloway guides. The Dredger & Stinger series take Recoil on the GLX models.

WHAT WE MEAN BY ACTION AND POWER

Action Rod action refers to the flex characteristics of a rod, varying from Slow to Extra-Fast. An Extra-Fast action rod flexes mainly at the tip. Slower (or softer) action rods flex throughout the entire length of the rod. Moderate action rods fall in between. We tailor the action of each of our rods to the particular fishing application for which they’re designed, taking into account the preferred fishing action, optimum casting range, fighting power, the feel of the rod, and countless other variables. Power We rate the power of our rods on a scale of 00 to 8. Th is rating should give you an idea of how each rod in the series compares in terms of lifting, fighting and casting strength. Because each series is rated independently, a 2-power Spin Jig rod, for example, does not feel the same as a 2-power Steelhead rod. Another way to measure power is resistance to flex or how much each specific rod bends under load. The 2-power rod flexes more easily than a 3-power and so on. Generally speaking, the heavier your choice of line and lure, the higher the power rating you’ll need.

NRX SERIES

G.Loomis has long been a leader in graphite rod blank technology. Our desire to make the very best rods in the world is what drives us. It’s never settling for just “good enough”. It’s all about continual innovation and process improvement. Over the years we’ve championed a lot change in the fishing world. Researching and developing new materials and new designs... pushing the boundaries with each and every new product. In the late 90’s we reorganized our product lines into a vertical format, featuring species and technique-specific rods. We hybridized materials to create a unique blend of rod properties that take advantage of the best features of each fibre. These “core models” include EastFork, standard CrossCurrent, ShoreStalker and VersaSpey. They are made with this unique “fibre-blend technology”. GLX, with its extreme light weight and remarkable castability, has been our highest level of performance... but now, it’s a whole new ballgame! After many years of research, hard work and continual technological improvements, our new and most dynamic achievement incorporates all the basic elements that make great fly rods… high modulus graphite, great tapers, the finest in componentry and a new, proprietary resin system. Th is along with Steve Rajeff ’s design ability helped us create an insanely lightweight, ultra-high performance series of rods… we call them NRX!

MAX GLX “CZECH NYMPH”

A unique fly rod series designed for a special style of tournament stream angling in Europe where speed and line control are paramount to success. These are extremely fast, 10-foot, 4-piece rods with light, sensitive tips to help anglers make short, accurate drifts with weighted nymphs. The technique requires very little in the way of traditional casting. Anglers flick weighted flies upstream of the target area and then, using the extra rod length, and long, light leaders, actually guide the flies along the bottom, under tension. The extra-fast taper in these rods provide a quick hook set, so anglers can react before the fish spits the fly. The 3-weight is for smaller fish and protecting very light tippets. The 4-weight is for slightly heavier tippets and larger fish. The technique is quickly gaining a following in the U.S. as anglers discover new ways to fool wily trout on pressured waters. The name says it all. It’s hands and knees approaches, gin-clear water and trout with severe aversions for sloppy casts and the associated “plops”. It’s long, delicate, whisper-thin leaders and #22 dries. It’s all about stealth and catching fish in spite of the odds. These rods are based on the original StreamDance GLX Presentation Series and, like the flies we tie to emulate the insects that trout favour, have gone through a metamorphous in their own right. We’ve done some tweaking, made a few improvements here and there, given them their own colour, their own identity and made a home for them in the hierarchy of G.Loomis fly rods. They’re smooth casting, presentation rods for the angler that isn’t concerned with long casts or power strokes. Featuring the finest diameter tips in the business, they’ll track as if they can read your mind and load easily for short, precise casts and delicate presentations. There are seven rods in the family, ranging from 2- thru 5-weight, varying in length from 7’9” to 9’ and each come in a soft, protective rod sock and durable travel case. EastFork fly rods are made with a unique blend of extra high modulus graphite materials to create a slim diameter, slender profi le blank that is capable of punching long casts out there with a lot of line speed. The fast taper and stiff power design helps the anglers to carve out tight, aerodynamic loops for excellent line control under all conditions. The rods are a beautiful, rich cabernet red with our custom-machined “yin-yang” bronze anodized reel seat that features a very stylish “burl” cork insert with the G.Loomis Skeleton Fish logo branded right into the cork. The rods are 3- and 4-piece, depending on the length and come in a soft, protective rod sock and travel case. The EastFork fly rods offer not only great looks, but match up nicely with the EastFork fly reels. These rods are a nice blend of performance and high tech design with less extravagant componenty to keep them at a mid-level price point. A real value for such a beautifully designed fly rod.

GLX CLASSICS

Over the years, G.Loomis has made huge strides in materials development, rod designs and innovative componentry. We’ve dramatically improved our rods, making them lighter and more efficient than ever, designing new, definitive families for a very specific techniques or a species. Our rods are made for the fanatical angler that specialises and has exacting expectations for his or her style of fishing. We are constantly looking to the next generation of rods to further define their niche. It’s been extremely successful for us, but it doesn’t fit everyone. There is one range of fly rods that has remained in the heart of the angler as perhaps the greatest of all. When we fi rst introduced GLX, these two and three piece rods quickly became the standard by which all high performance fly rods were judged. We’ve got a large following of anglers who still love these “classic” GLX fly rods. They are very accurate in line-size, but their biggest attribute may be their versatility. They load as well at 15 feet as they do at 60 feet and they are extremely powerful given their extreme light weight. We’ve gradually thinned out the less popular rods, but these seven remain in high demand... the proverbial Best of the Best! As the demand for high performance rods moves towards the travelling angler and multi-piece construction, these seven two and three piece legends remain. We know and understand why they’re so popular and that’s why we continue to make them. It’s our way of keeping things in perspective, remembering what got us here. WARM WATER

NATIVERUN GLX

It’s the preparation - the pursuit - the prize that makes flyfishing for steelhead and salmon so totally consuming. It’s all about long days on the river. It’s long fly rods and long casts, hooking big, powerful fish that make quick, nerve-shattering runs. It’s about fireside stories and comparing your day with that of your friend’s. More importantly, it’s sharing our passion for flyfishing along with an intimate understanding of what anglers expect in a fly rod that makes the creation of our Native Run Series even more satisfying. These rods are made to handle big water, big flies and big fish. They’re powerful, smooth casting and beautiful to look at, not to mention how well they fish! They have graceful tapers creating fast actions that allow you to fish all types of lines effectively. They range from 9- to 10-feet in length and handle 7- to 9-weight fly lines. They give you positive line control for technical mending, managing indicators and punching out those long casts. Our proprietary GLX performance makes them unbelievably sensitive, but the sheer lack of overall weight is what makes them a pleasure to fish all day. All you need to do is focus, keep casting and be ready. When the strike finally comes, you’ll be glad you’ve got a GLX Native Run fly rod in your hand. It handles the fish so well you can concentrate on the fun stuff - like not banging your knuckles with those whirling reel handles. These 4-piece rods all come with a soft, protective rod sock and travel tube. Get your camera ready!! Model FR1206-4 GLX FR1147-4 GLX FR1207-4 GLX FR1088-4 GLX FR1148-4 GLX FR1208-4 GLX FR1209-4 GLX

SHORESTALKER

Veteran warm-water fly fisher, Dave Whitlock teamed up with our designers to develop a special series of rods for those warm-water critters that prefer to hide in the thick stuff where they can burst from the cover, even darkness to ambush their prey. Originally they were meant for freshwater species like bass, pike and panfish, but the saltwater crowd quickly discovered them to be an effective tool for snook, redfish and other shallow-water species. These are rods meant for fishing the shoreline, the edges… abrupt weed lines, rocky points, submerged trees and the mangroves. They are specialty rods designed to make short, aggressive casts where accuracy is far more critical than distance. They load easily at twenty-feet, yet have enough power and accuracy to punch a streamer, 60-feet into a small opening in the brush. They are shorter than your normal fly rod with fast tapers to help you keep your loops tight and line trajectory low to clear shoreline cover and overhanging limbs. They are subtle yet extremely powerful with sufficient strength to keep a big largemouth away from the pads or a snook out of the thick stuff. Not a lot of false casts are necessary with these beauties. Just get your range right and drop your bug on the spot. Then pick it up with one quick back-cast and do it again. There are five, 4-piece models, ranging from 5- to 9-weights, varying in length depending on the line size and target species. Each comes in a soft, protective rod sock and hard case for storage and travel.

ROARING RIVER SERIES THE THREE STYLES OF ROARING RIVER TWO-HAND RODS The Roaring River Series is designed for the three primary casting techniques used throughout the world: Traditional, Skagit and Scandinavian.

ROARING RIVER GREASED LINE

To address the Traditional style of two-hand casting, our field experts have helped to define the Roaring River Greased Line rods; seven rods ranging from a 14’ #8/9 wt. to a 17’ #10/11 wt. Designed to cast long belly floating or sinking lines using a long casting stroke, this traditional form of spey casting maintains a fi xed line of 65 to 100 feet. These rods allow you to cover water without retrieving or lengthening line on each cast, keeping you less tired and more focused on the prize. These powerful designs use the full bend of the rod, flexing through the mid-section when fully loaded. Greased Line GLX – The Greased Line GLX is crafted with our proprietary GLX graphite along with the finest rod components available today. Featuring Hopkins and Holloway guides and exquisitely crafted Portuguese cork handles, fitted with a special composite cork end-cap and fore grip. Made with our exclusive offset - oval sculptured barrel reel seat, each with an ivory style insert engraved with a fly graphic.

ROARING RIVER DREDGER

When you need to get down fast in swift, deep drifts, the new Roaring River Dredger will comfortably manage the sinking tips and weighted flies needed for Skagit style casting. Th is model is designed to throw short to medium belly 38 to 62 ft. lines using the balanced medium casting stoke, refined over time by the northwest steelhead fishermen. Requiring less back cast space than traditional casting, this rod provides excellent distance with some shoot to the cast. Dredger GLX – Th is is the top of the Dredger range, featuring our proprietary GLX graphite along with the finest rod components available today. With nickel titanium recoil guides by REC these cast as slick as they look. Exquisitely crafted Portuguese cork handles with a special composite cork end-cap and fore grip are fitted to our exclusive offset - oval sculptured barrel reel seat, each with an ivory style insert engraved with a fly graphic.

ROARING RIVER STINGER

Originally targeted at Scandinavian style casters, these rods have also become very popular for use with both Traditional and Skagit lines, particularly for casters looking for fast action rod performance. The taper and power of these rods are perfectly balanced to enable the angler to change lines and casting styles in order to achieve long casts with less effort. With a choice of either 14’ or 15’ models, both will help you generate high line speed and give great shooting distance casts. With a fast action taper, these rods will also let you make overhead false casts - where back-casting room is sufficient - generating the highest line speed possible. Originally launched in 2004, these two 3 piece rods are now regarded as the benchmark against which other Salmon rods are assessed. Series Stinger GLX Stinger GLX

ROARING RIVER GREASED LINE SERIES

ROARING RIVER DREDGER GLX

Th is is the “go to” rod to cover Northwest steelhead under a wide range of river conditions, lines and flies. Rod action is moderate with a positive feel, allowing the angler to use a bit more authority lifting heavier sinking lines with heavily weighted flies, resetting the anchor, then delivering a long cast. Expect effortless 50 to 90 foot casts, with short belly head and running monofi lament. Th is rod is at home on larger western rivers where continuous longer casts are needed to cover the run and battle of big fish when they decide to nail your fly. It is a must rod for trips to the Dean, Babine, Kispiox rivers.

Over a century ago Jock Scott wrote of Greased Line fishing as performed by A.H.E. Wood to present a fly broadside to salmon to entice the fish to strike. Th is traditional form of Spey casting maintains a relatively fi xed line length of 65-100 feet, allowing you to cover water without retrieving or lengthening line on each cast; keeping you less tired and more focused on your prize. These powerful designs use the full bend of the rod, flexing through the mid-section when fully loaded. The Roaring River Greased Line series of two-hand rods offer the ultimate combination of power and grace in a rod and provide you perfect swing speed and fly control. For Spey casts from 50 to 150 feet the Roaring River Greased Line two-hand rod series will truly allow you to fish the water “Fine and Far off.” - Steve Choate Model FR1807/8-4 GLX GR LN FR1688/9-4 GLX GR LN FR1808/9-4 GLX GR LN FR1809/10-4 GLX GR LN FR1929/10-4 GLX GR LN FR18010/11-4 GLX GR LN FR20410/11-4 GLX GR LN

G.Loomis introduced their two-hand “RoaringRiver” series back in 2004. Developed around the three dominant forms of spey casting – Traditional, Skagit and Scandinavian, the series is recognised as one of the most comprehensive line-ups of two-hand fly rods in the industry. The Scandinavian style Stinger rods, whilst still available in original 3-piece configuration, are now also available in a more transport-friendly 4-piece. Like the 3-piece, the rod actions remain fast and powerful to help create narrow loops using an underhand casting stroke. Since the physical weight of the line reflects the true rating for each rod, we’ve converted our traditional line-size system to grains and grams for a more universal rating system. The GLX Stinger also incorporates nickel titanium RECOIL guides by REC which help make the rod noticeably lighter. They’re also flexible, making a mistake like catching a tree branch nothing more than an inconvenience. The handle shape has also been refined and the overall diameter reduced. The high-quality Portuguese cork, special composite end-cap and fore grip are fitted to an offset oval sculptured barrel reel seat with ivory effect insert and triple wing locking nuts, to help loosen or lock the reel easily - even in cold temperatures.

We used our “blend” fibre technology and moderately priced components to create a range of twohand salmon and steelhead fly rods that are so-named because of their “versatility”. Balancing the rod with the right line-weight allows these rods to perform all the dominant casting methods with exceptional comfort and control. They have dual fly line-ratings along with weight-ratings in grains to help select the right balance. For floating lines with short, mid- and long-belly integrated lines, use the dual weight line listed for the rod. When using Scandinavian and Skagit shooting lines (sink-tips not included), use the grain-weight for reference. The rods range in length from 12’ 6” to 13’ 6” and are well suited for short/compact length shooting heads, yet they are long enough for full fly lines.

ROARING RIVER GLX SWITCH If you are looking for the flexibility to make traditional single hand casts, roll casts, or full-on spey casts, the new GLX Switch rod is definitely worth a look. Each of the three rods in the series are 11’ and have light, progressive actions. Model FR1325-4GLXSwitch FR1327-4GLXSwitch FR1328-4GLXSwitch

SALTWATER

CROSSCURRENT GLX

CROSSCURRENT

Saltwater flyfishing is highly dependent on bait, cover, current and tides. Where currents cross creating rips, seams and turbulence - is the playground for saltwater anglers. It’s where the baitfish find sanctuary and the game fish come to dine. It’s where the depth changes on an otherwise boring flat that hides a big snook as he waits for unsuspecting prey. It’s how we look at the world of saltwater fly fishing and it’s what CrossCurrent is all about! It’s the culmination of hours of research... on the water and in the factory, creating rods with incredible lifting power and fast tapers that help you make tight, aerodynamic loops so you can punch out unbelievably long cast after long cast, even in a stiff breeze. It’s the beautiful appointments we’ve added to these rods to make them as enjoyable to look at as they are to fish. It’s the light weight, the power and the castability that makes our CrossCurrent Series the most dynamic, most popular saltwater fly rods in the universe. There are seven rods in the CrossCurrent GLX family, all 4-piece travel rods, featuring Recoil (nickel-titanium) guides and anodized aluminum reel seats with our “yin yang” cutouts exposing a graphite insert with G.Loomis’ iconic Skeleton Fish logo. Each rod comes in a soft, protective rod sock and travel case. Model

NEW

Whether you choose our standard CrossCurrent rods for back ups or for your budget, they are outstanding fishing tools. You might call them “power tools” for the flats. We use our “fibre blend technology” to combine the benefits of strength and stiff ness of different materials to build a powerful alternative for anglers at any level. Now in their new 4-piece configuration, these sticks are every bit as smooth, as powerful and as efficient as any fly rod on the market. Blending different materials allows us to take advantage of the unique properties of each without overbuilding the blank. Some fibres lend themselves to extra strength for extreme lifting power while others add stiff ness for faster recovery to keep the rod tracking true for long and accurate casts. Another advantage is the price. These rods are about 30% less expensive than their GLX counterparts. They aren’t as light, but they’re everything an angler expects in a saltwater fly rod, with power to spare. We call them our game changer! Th is is what our standard CrossCurrent Series is all about. Each rod comes in a soft, protective rod sock and travel case.

With the ergonomic grip and our exclusive off set-oval sculptured barrel reel seat, these rods are not only extremely tough but a delight to the eyes as well.

“Saltwater fly fishing is a passion, a fanatical pursuit with zeal fuelled by the degree of difficulty required to reach the ultimate goal.

GREASED MID SPEY

• The Greased Mid Spey has been designed for salmon fishing with two-handed rods. • The medium belly (55’) helps mending the line but is also able to shoot line when long distance is needed. It excels at fishing in tight surroundings. • Loops on both ends for easy connection. • Available in floating with 15’ intermediate tip and 15’ sinking VI tip.

• Stinger is a range of Shooting Heads designed specifically for the Scandinavian style of casting which is becoming increasingly popular in the UK . The special taper design creates distance and enables the rod to load quickly and effortlessly. • Loops at both ends of the head mean the line can be used as it is, or can be custom-cut to match perfectly with your rod. • Stinger Salmon shooting taper range includes floating, intermediate and three different sinking density lines.

NRX is the culmination of what we have been doing at G.Loomis since day one. We continually strive to build the best fishing rods on the planet. Utilizing the latest laminates, resins, mandrels, components and the know how you have come to expect from G. Loomis. These new NRX rods look like nothing we have built before. They feel better than anything we have built before. We aren’t talking about a little better here or a little lighter there.

What we are saying, so there is no confusion . . . “This is the best bass rod ever built!” Period!!

SOFT PLASTIC

CAROLINA RIG

SENKO

A set of four 7’3” casting rods, two GLX and two MossyBacks, designed specifically to fish soft plastics using a “Carolina Rig”. The bait is attached to a leader 16 to 40” or more, behind an oversized weight to help keep the rig in constant contact with the bottom while the soft plastic follows along, dangling enticingly behind it. The weight creates noise and on softer bottoms, little bursts of mud that help attract bass. Then they see the bait coming along behind it and if you’re lucky or good or both, they’ll eat it. These are fast-action rods, made a little longer than normal to handle what can be a tricky rig to cast, as well as create more tip speed to extend your casting range and improve hook sets. They are extremely sensitive and powerful and light. The MossyBack rods are our mid-price models and feature our proprietary “fibreblend” construction with Fuji guides and reel seats. The GLX models feature RECOIL guides, known for their light weight and durability, along with Fuji reel seats. Look for the Carolina Rig logo on the rod!

When the bass are cruising the shallow flats and shallow creek channels in the spring you need a bait that will stay in the strike zone as long as possible yet still have enough action to entice a strike. A good choice is the soft plastic jerkbait. Our “Senko” rods are designed to fish these baits effectively for a number of reasons. Longer rods create a greater casting and hook-setting radius. That means more tip-speed to initiate the hook-set, and to give increased casting distance, which is really important since the baits weigh next to nothing. It’s not such a problem with the Senko or the Yum Dinger because they are the heaviest of the soft jerkbaits, but with baits like the Super Fluke, the Bass Assassin and Jerk Worm, you need a rod with a tip that will give you the ability to make nice long casts so you can cover more water, along with enough power to set the hook, even when they’re out there “a country mile”. We offer two levels of performance. The MossyBack rods are our mid-priced models and feature our proprietary “fibre-blend” construction with Fuji guides and reel seats. Our incredibly light and sensitive GLX models feature RECOIL guides, known for their light weight and durability, along with Fuji reel seats. There are two casting rods and one spinning rod in each series to cover all aspects of fishing soft jerkbaits. Look for the “Senko” on the rod!

LENGTH: 7’3” | PIECES: 1 | CASTING Th is Carolina Rig rod is designed to fish lighter line, lighter rigs in shallow or extremely clear water. Lighter ( smaller diameter ) line means less drag and allows you to use less weight which helps improve even GLX sensitivity. Model

SPINNING RODS ·

SOFT PLASTIC LENGTH: 7’11” | POWER: 6 | PIECES: 1 | SPINNING Don’t let the “medium-heavy” power-rating fool you. Th is is a stout rod, designed to fish the smaller 4-7” soft, hollow belly swimbaits like Strike King’s Shadalicous, the Basstrix and Yum’s Money Minnow. It has a powerful butt-section for extra-long casts and excellent hook-setting power. The tip is very responsive and surprisingly light for all the power it creates. You can feel every wiggle of a swimbait’s tail and you can feel even the lightest strike. Works well for any species that will eat a swimbait, including stripers and pike.

SWIMBAIT

Big baits mean big fish! That’s two very good reasons why we developed our line of swimbait rods. There are guys out there that have devoted their lives to pursuing double-digit monsters. We’ve teamed up with them, learned from their experience, shared their secrets, and digested what they believe is needed for the ultimate in a swimbait rod. These rods are the result and they cover the gamut of baits styles and sizes. They are designed to fish soft and hard plastic baitfish imitators and in the case of largemouth bass, especially really big largemouth bass – other finny delicacies – like trout, small bass and panfish. We make our rear grips extra long so you can tuck the rod butt under your arm rather than having it jab you in the ribs, which can be annoying as well as painful. The extra handle length also provides leverage to improve casting distance and control, not to mention handling the big bass you’ll be catching. Don’t forget the net!

Model

LENGTH: 7’6” | POWER: 4 | PIECES: 1 | SPINNING A slightly shorter swimbait rod designed primarily for the smaller baits and open water applications. It’s so light you won’t believe the power it generates. It is extremely sensitive and casts those smaller sized baits a “country mile”. The real test is when you hook a monster and that’s when this rod really shines. Model SWBR904

LENGTH: 7’2” | PIECES: 1 | CASTING Th is is a unique, dual purpose rod, slightly shorter than most flipping sticks, allowing you to fish the edges of cover using either the flipping or pitching approach. It’s light and powerful yet allows you to use slightly lighter line so you can fish downsized baits when the bite gets tough.

FLIPPING STICKS

Model

Flipping is an oxymoron of sorts. It’s considered to be a finesse technique, yet it requires brute strength to make it work. The finesse part comes in the presentation. You want your jig or worm to enter the water very quietly because this is close-quarters combat fishing. You need it to drop straight down to make sure you get into the sweet spot next to that piling, bush or rock. You need heavy line because you’re after big fish and you need a rod with some guts so that when you do get bit, you can literally yank it away from the cover, quickly and with authority. Flipping Sticks used to be a lot stiffer, especially in the tip-section, to allow anglers to “swing” the bait accurately – relying on that stiff tip to help set the hook, but as techniques evolve and styles change, anglers have discovered they have more control and better accuracy with a fast-action rod with a more dynamic tip. They can use the flex in the tip to help accelerate the bait towards the target and they can “mend” the line with their free hand to control the lure’s entry into the water. We used to make our flipping sticks with telescopic handles, but boat designs have improved and now, most have rod lockers that will accommodate an 8-foot rod, so we changed our rods one-piece configuration. It allows us to create a stronger, more sensitive stick that is noticeably lighter. After a long day on the water, anglers appreciate any weight reduction they can get. It also helps increase tip speed during the hookset and that means more positive control and more power when you need it. These rods are so light for such extreme power, there’s only one word to describe them… ASTONISHING!

SPINNING RODS CRANKBAIT SERIES

For years, a number of manufacturers have pushed fibreglass rods for crankbaits, claiming graphite rods are too stiff and react too fast… not allowing the fish to inhale the lure. That’s true because fibreglass is softer and much slower reacting, making fibreglass a good choice for crankbaits. Our philosophy is, why not use the dynamic features of graphite (sensitivity, extreme light weight, faster recovery, etc.) to make a really good, responsive crankbait rod. Material is only one part of the formula, design is another, and in the case of our crankbait rods, it maybe the most important. These are specialty casting rods, designed specifically for crankbaits. We took all of the necessary elements required to make a rod that will fish a crankbait correctly… a soft, more moderate action that’s soft enough to let the lures to work properly and allow the fish to inhale the bait, yet creates a rod that is very light, responsive and sensitive. You gain all of the advantages of graphite, with a nice soft action rod that’s a lot lighter than fibreglass, making it far less tiring to cast over the course of a long day. Plus, they are much more sensitive, which gives you a huge advantage, and you get a rod that will react quick enough to help keep the line tight when a fish makes a sudden, unexpected move. The bottom line is more fish in the boat, with less effort. LENGTH: 6’6” | POWER: 3 | PIECES: 1 | CASTING Th is is a beautiful rod for throwing medium-size crankbaits and surface lures. It’s awesome for deep-diving lures like the smaller Fat Free Shad and Wiggle Warts. It works well in close quarters thanks to its shorter length. Th is rod really shines with big stickbaits. It loads easily, it’s extremely lightweight, and it has more than enough power to handle big fish.

CRANKBAIT DEEP FLEX Our Deep Flex (DF) crankbait rods are a totally new (2010) design that creates a much slower taper and softer flex. They are incredibly light and provide unbelievable sensitivity and lure control. The softer flex improves the lure’s action. The softer rod allows you to work the lure over or around the cover, the way it was designed to, which is far more attractive to the fish. Bass actually suck the lure in by flushing a large amount of water through their gills, bringing the lure along with it. Rods with too fast an action can actually pull the bait away from the bass and not allow the natural “flow” to occur, resulting in short strikes, poor hook-ups and missed fish. Another advantage is that the softer action is very forgiving when the fish runs. Now it’s time to get excited. Crankbait anglers have never had it so good!

LENGTH: 6’ 8” | POWER: MEDIUM | PIECES: 1 | CASTING Th is is a good rod for fishing small to medium-sized lipless crankbaits, deep-divers and shallow runners. It’s perfect for fishing crankbaits in open water. Its soft flex and slow taper really gives the lure a lot more action. It is extremely accurate for close-quarter work. If you are one of those anglers that think fibreglass is the answer, then you need to try this rod. It has all the “advantages” glass gives you at half the weight and talk about sensitive… it adds another whole dimension to fishing crankbaits. Model Crankbait Full Flex

SPINNING RODS SPINNERBAIT SERIES

These rods are designed specifically to fish spinnerbaits. They feature extra-fast tips to help improve accuracy and lower the trajectory on your casts. That means the wind has less affect on your bait. Most bass anglers understand what it means when a spinnerbait “parachutes”. It has an extremely negative effect on distance as well as accuracy and it’s inefficient as can be. These rods load effortlessly, allowing quick underhand snap casts so you can cover a lot of water. The other advantage of the extra-fast action is the power in the butt-section. The combination of accuracy and control embellished by the ability to control fish of any size in heavy cover give you an added advantage when you really need it. The standard spinnerbait rods feature our “fibre blend technology”, Fuji guides and Fuji’s ECS “exposed blank” trigger reel seat. The only exception is the SBR864C, which utilizes a much larger blank so it has a standard Fuji trigger real seat. The GLX versions are much lighter and a lot more sensitive and feature RECOIL guides. Bass anglers are becoming more and more specialized in their sport. It makes sense to have a rod designed for each type of lure or technique. Spinnerbaits may be fished by more anglers than any other single bass lure. We think they deserve their own special action and overall design. Fish them and we’re confident that you’ll agree!

SPINNING RODS

DROP SHOT

We make such an effort to keep baits on the bottom because that’s where a lot of the food is, but there are times when something a little more subtle is required. Sometimes you just have to put the bait in the fish’s way and let it wiggle. Drop-shotting puts the bait up off the bottom, where the fish can see it and keeps it there. They just can’t stand to have it hang there, vibrating enticingly right in front of their nose. The rods we use for this technique are special in their own right. The actions are extra-fast, but the tips are light so the angler can impart a subtle wiggle to the bait without a lot of wasted motion, but many times you just let it sit there and get good results. It doesn’t take a hard hook-set to get the fish, but rather a quick “lift” of the rod. We design the tip extra soft so that the fish can mouth the bait without a lot of resistance from the rod, but the magnum taper allows the rod to load up so quickly that once you lift it, the fish is hooked and 95 times out of 100 it will be hooked dead center in the upper lip. We make two different power ratings… one for light line and open water situations, which includes a GLX version, and one that’s slightly stiffer for deep-water and brushy situations where you need a little more power to get the fish to the boat. For those anglers that prefer casting rods, we make two “fibre blend” models. All Drop Shot rods come with a foam strap - with our Skeleton Fish logo on it - to hold the rig in place on the rear grip for storage.

SHAKY HEAD

A great approach for getting results in lakes where the fish get a lot of pressure and have seen about every type of bait you can imagine. Shallow, deep, around docks and even when the fish are on the beds, the ShakyHead rig may not be the go-to tactic, but it’s highly effective when the going gets tough. It’s a unique style that requires a special rod. It’s kind of like drop-shotting right on the bottom. The rod has a little stiffer feel because the real flex starts about 4-6 inches from the tip-top, creating a unique action so you can shake the jighead/finesse worm combination without moving the bait a lot. It takes some practice, but it can really make a difference in your success rate. There are two different power ratings available… a “mag light” version and a “mag-medium”. There’s a GLX spinning rod in the mag-medium model and there’s a casting rod in the mag-medium, “fibre blend” model. When the fish are tight to the bottom, this will get in their face like no other technique!

LENGTH: 6’10” | POWER: 2 | PIECES: 1 | CASTING If you just plain prefer a casting rod, but need to dangle a finesse worm in front of a very negative largemouth, especially when you know he’s tucked back in a bush, this is an excellent choice. It’s extremely sensitive so when you’re deadsticking a bait, there’s no doubt when a bass takes it.

Fishing jerkbaits, whether early in the spring or later in the year requires a lot of confidence. You have to believe the fish are there and you must be patient. In cold water, it’s a pull, pause, pull, pause, technique with lots of emphasis on the pause. Sometimes it’s as long as 30 to 40 seconds of just letting the lure suspend. Th is is a deadly technique, especially with smallmouth early in the season. You need a rod with a light, responsive tip that allows you to fish the bait properly without sacrificing power. These rods are designed with fast tips and progressive tapers in the mid-section so the angler can work the lures correctly with minimal effort. Effective for spots, largemouth or smallmouth, it all relates to water temperature. When it’s cold, you fish very slow, when it’s warmer, you speed things up quite a bit. Sometimes you need to be super aggressive with the lure movement and this rod has the power to do that and still not overload it, but when you need to be subtle, the tip is light enough and responsive enough to impart a slight twitch if that’s what it takes to get the fish going. There is plenty of reserve power in the butt-section for getting fish heading your way.

LENGTH: 6’ 9” | POWER: MEDIUM | PIECES: 1 | CASTING With the same line/lure ratings as the 6’3” version (GL11743-01), the extra length of this rod gives you more tip speed to increase casting distance and allow you to fish deeper water more effectively. You can move the bait faster and more aggressively so you can cover more water. It is especially helpful when you want to stay back off the fish because of clear water or the fish are just plain spooky.

LENGTH: 6’ 3” | POWER: MEDIUM | PIECES: 1 | CASTING Th is rod is designed specifically for fishing small to medium-sized jerkbaits in shallow water and tight quarters where a shorter rod is preferred to keep line and lure under control, allowing you to react quickly and move the fish away from cover. It allows you to fish the tip straight down to make short, quick strokes to impart the proper action to the lure. Once you hook a fish, G.Loomis’ proprietary, progressive-power-taper takes over, providing increased power as the blank flexes.

LENGTH: 7’2” | POWER: 3 | PIECES: 1 | CASTING When you finally get back there where all the fish are chasing bait in the thick stuff and you just can’t seem to cast that “light as air” soft-plastic frog anywhere near them, this is the rod you need. The tip is light enough to cast a variety of topwater frog baits (3/8 – 1 ounce and up) and the butt says “you’re coming my way whether you like it or not.”

We have totally redesigned the Frog rod line-up with two new, ultra-powerful specialty rods designed for both open water and heavy cover. We’ve not only improved the action, but reduced the weight of these rods substantially. There’s a 7’ 9” rod with a magnum-heavy power-rating for the thick stuff, that has more than enough strength to pull a big bass out of even the heaviest cover with sheer brute force, plus a 7’ 1” model with a heavy power-rating for fishing the new soft plastic frogs in open water where you don’t need quite so much power to get the fish to the boat. They’re both top water rods, pure and simple, but they’re designed specifically for fishing faux frogs.

THE CLASSICS

THE CLASSICS Thanks to G.Loomis, fishing has gone beyond being an infectious sport. You could call it an addiction of sorts, which has pushed us to create our family of casting and spinning rods that have remained the favorites for millions of anglers worldwide. We call these The Classics. These are the technological wonders that put G.Loomis at the top. Nothing added, nothing taken away, these rods simply get the job done. They hold your first fishing memories and never become outdated for your next. In other words, they do a great job of maintaining and feeding your addiction.

MAG BASS

These are the rods that started it all for G.Loomis in the bass fishing world. Based on levels of performance, these rods were and remain on the cutting edge of graphite technology today. They are no-nonsense, no frills, high performance fishing tools. Fuji reel seats, cork grips and the best guides available to give anglers the lightest, most sensitive rods in the business. There are four levels of graphite performance available in the most popular models. The Mag Bass Rod, “MBR” series of 6’6” & 7’ bass casting rods were originally developed for increased casting distance & deep-water applications. The term MAG came from their magnum tapers that generate a lot of power and provide excellent fish-fighting capability. Longer rear-cork grips help provide leverage and balance. They are excellent for pitching or overhand casting and are unbelievably strong for such light weight rods. These rods were originally designed to fish for bass, but anglers will experiment and many have found them to be excellent for walleye, pike, freshwater stripers, redfish and snook – a testament to their light weight and sensitivity, not to mention unbelievable power. You will be amazed at the versatility of these rods!

CASTING

Our Classic “CR” (Casting Rods) Series is designed for accurate, low-trajectory casting which makes them ideal for fishing in tight quarters, around low overhanging limbs and cover. They are all 6-foot casting rods with Fuji’s ECR (exposed blank - trigger reel seats) and 7-inch, straight cork rear-grips. These are the rods that started it all for G.Loomis in the bass fishing world. Anglers use them for topwater baits, spinnerbaits and jigs and worms where accuracy is more important than distance. These rods remain on the cutting edge of graphite technology today. They are no-nonsense, no frills, high performance fishing tools. The most popular models are available in all four levels of graphite performance.

THE CLASSICS

CLASSICS SPIN JIG

These are special, fast-action rods designed to give warm-water spin fishermen the power and performance of a casting rod in a spinning configuration. While many of these rods are similar to our casting models in both actions and power-ratings, they are rated for slightly lighter line because spinning reels traditionally don’t handle heavier line as well as a casting reel and in most cases, using “heavy” line (17-pound test or higher) drastically reduces casting distance and performance, even with oversized guides. These rods were originally developed for fishing soft plastics for smallmouth bass, but have since been discovered by walleye anglers for vertical jigging applications as well as grubs and light bottom-bounce rigs. There are five different power “groups”, ranging from 2- to 17-pound test line. Many of these rods are suitable for light saltwater use. They are powerful, efficient tools capable of handling a variety of line and lures sizes. They are just what the doctor ordered for bass, walleye and pike on the freshwater side and you’ll find a number of ways to use them in light saltwater applications. They are light, sensitive and extremely accurate. The more popular models are available in GLX, IMX, GL3 and GL2. Others are available in the most popular size and material based on consumer demand. CLASSICS FLIPPING

Flipping Stick (FSR) rods are designed specifically for flipping, but double nicely for other heavy-duty jig and worm applications. Flipping is a technical form of heavy-duty “finesse” fishing. We realize that is a contradictory statement, but when the fish are in locations where casting a lure is not an option due to heavy cover, or they won’t come out to chase a lure, you have to go in after them. Because you are so close to the fish, the presentation must be as quiet as possible. The length of a flipping stick allows the angler to “swing” soft plastics or jigs into or right next to heavy cover so that they enter the water softly. Th is allows a total vertical presentation so your lure drops straight to the bottom, unlike a lure that is cast and falls toward the angler, missing perimeter zones because they sink at an angle away from the cover. The test isn’t hooking fish, but rather getting those fish out of that same small space you just flipped your lure into. You need a rod that can move a fish quickly, with authority, before it has a chance to wrap you up in the cover. These rods feature cork handles, with a straight 9” rear grip for added leverage, better balance and line control. The reel seat features blank-thru handle construction, with a trigger grip. The butt-section collapses into the handle for ease in storage. Model FSR904X (IMX) FSR904X (GL2)

MUSKIE SERIES

When it takes, on the average, 10,000 casts to catch one of these toothy critters, you’d better have your game on and that includes the right equipment. Muskie are so elusive anglers are happy to have a couple of “follows” during a day on the water. The lures are big, the line is heavy and the rods have to be powerful to handle them, not to mention the fish. These are ambush-oriented creatures that come out of nowhere to chase down the right bait when presented properly. They are explosive, tough fighters and you have to be aggressive, not to mention patient. If everything works perfectly… success! One false move and you go home wondering, “what if”. Muskies aren’t all giants, but even a small one is a challenge and the reward validates the risk. It’s a world of big baits and they are getting even bigger. Giant swimbaits, huge plugs, oversized in-line, bucktail spinners and huge spinnerbaits require long, powerful rods to cast and control these babies. It’s not a game for the faint of heart! We’ve spent a lot of time studying the fish, the lakes, the rivers and the anglers who call the Muskie their fish of choice. We’ve created a series of casting rods just for you die-hards that will do everything you ask and more. They aren’t your everyday Muskie rod, but then Muskies aren’t your everyday fish. These new rods are long, powerful, high performance fishing instruments designed specifically to fish the new hi-tech baits. You’ll cast farther, find them surprisingly light for all that power and be confident that when the “moment” happens you’ll be in total control. Carpe diem! Sporting a new look and new actions, these rods are all about performance! Over the years, some of the techniques have changed, fisheries have changed and anglers have adjusted, so we too have adjusted, totally redesigning our entire selection of walleye rods, improving the actions with even more precise tapers and length adjustments to cover the most technical aspects of the fishery, especially where light weight and sensitivity are an important factor for success. There are eight models in our proprietary “blended fibres” with Fuji Alconite guides and eight of the same models in GLX with Recoil guides. We have rods specifically designed for pitching jigs, vertical jigging, bait rigs and back-bouncing. When lightweight and sensitivity really matters, we recommend GLX!! SPINNING RODS SPINNING RODS

A dynamic collection of light-duty and ultra-light freshwater spinning rods. We designed them primarily for panfish and trout, but they satisfy a variety of different applications like small in-line spinners for bass, darts and light jigs for shad, spinners for trout, small baits for bonefish, and even spoons for sea trout. They are lightduty all-around spinning rods with relatively soft butt-sections and light tips. None are rated for over 10-pound line and most are in the 4 to 6-pound test range. If you’re fishing in tight quarters or really small creeks, we’d suggest the shorter models, but if you frequent larger streams or ponds and lakes, we’d recommend the longer rods because they protect light line better and give you increased casting distance and a longer, more effective hook set.

LENGTH: 6’6” | POWER: 3 | PIECES: 2 | SPINNING Designed to fish up to 10-pound test and lures of up to 3/8 ounce, this fast-action rod excels in strong currents and deep-water situations. It may not have the powerful butt that you’ll find in the Spin Jig Series, but it’s more than adequate for all but the largest takers. It also makes a pretty good finesse rod for warmwater species when lighter line is required, and it has the chops to handle pickerel, small pike and shad. Model GL3

LENGTH: 7’ | POWER: 3 | PIECES: 2 | SPINNING A great rod for shad, this fast-action, moderately powerful rod is designed to fish up to 10-pound test and lures up to 3/8 ounce in strong currents and deep water. It will handle small bass and walleye nicely, and it makes a good finesse rod for warm-water species when lighter line is a must. Model

The combination of the 7-foot length and the ultra-light action makes it a good deep-water panfish rod. And if you like to fish bubble/fly combinations for trout, this rod will certainly do the trick, especially with a smaller bubble. It’s also a nice rod for drifting single salmon eggs (or imitations) for trout in small streams. All in all, we consider this the perfect 4-pound test rod. Model

SALMON

SALMON SERIES

This is our home turf, salmon country. This is where we all grew up and learned how to fish. Our local customers, guides and staff are among the finest salmon fishermen in the world. So when we asked them how to make the ultimate salmon rods, they had plenty to say. We had countless conversations and came up with hundreds of designs and re-designs. Months of trials and field-testing resulted in the entire new lineup of salmon rods that fill this catalogue. Trolling, backbouncing, spinners, plugging, hovering or bank fishing, whatever your game, we’ve got you covered. These rods are powerful, light, sensitive and best of all, each one has an action specifically tailored for a technique that puts the chromers in the boat. Gone are the days of lugging around one big stick and making it work (sort of) for all your salmon fishing needs. You can measure the difference in pleasure on the water and number of fish in the net. Enjoy.

HOT SHOT RODS

LENGTH: 7’6” | POWER: 00 | PIECES: 1 | SPINNING Th is rod was originally designed to back-troll small plugs for steelhead or silver salmon. But because of its light tip and powerful butt, it has quickly emerged as the rod of choice for serious walleye anglers fishing spinner/worm rigs. Saltwater flats fishermen also like the light tip for casting soft plastics, jigs or bait to cruising redfish and specks.

We designed these rods with light to medium tips and magnum-power butt sections, which make them excellent casting tools and even better fish-fighting tools. If you’re unfamiliar, the Hot Shot technique goes something like this... the angler positions his boat at the head of a run and allows the current to pull the plug down to the fish zone. The boat then sweeps across the current so the plug covers the entire width of the river (lure action is then monitored by watching the wiggle of the rod tip). When a fish hits, the magnum butt section actually sets the hook for you. The boat operator keeps tension on the fish until the angler can grab the rod from the holder. An extremely effective technique and a very versatile rod. Hot Shot Rod Handle Options

STEELHEAD LENGTH: 9’6” | POWER: 1 | PIECES: 2 | SPINNING The ultimate light-line steelhead drift rod. The perfect action to handle 6-pound line and a subtle power, much like a fly rod, that tires fish quickly. We originally designed this rod for the western technique known as boondogging. The technique requires a more forgiving rod, because the fish will drop the bait the minute it feels any resistance. Th is rod is soft enough to let you “see” the strike before the fish has time to react. A good bank rod, a great boat rod!

STEELHEAD SERIES

When you need to nail a drift against the other bank, you need distance. When you need to stick it in the foam to get the right line, you need accuracy. When you need to do it all day long, you need less weight. When it’s all paid off with a bite you might never feel, you need sensitivity. The Steelhead Series brings it all. These rods are lighter and more sensitive, the actions are faster than we’ve ever offered in a steelhead rod and they’re longer for greater distance and line control. They’re capped with super durable composite cork butt ends which are quiet in a boat, and rib cage friendly. And with a stunning finish, and you’ve got the ultimate steelheaders arsenal.

Model GLX

LENGTH: 8’2” | POWER: 2 | PIECES: 2 | SPINNING When you’re pursuing summer run steelhead in tight quarters of coastal rivers and small streams, the shorter, light-action of the GL11668-01 is ideal. It effortlessly casts light drift baits and corkies with the minimum weight needed to work low clear drifts and pools. It also provides a little less to deal with if you’re fishing from a tube or pontoon boat. Model Steelhead

TRAVEL RODS

ESCAPE SERIES

Our free time has become more valuable than ever and so destination resorts are catering more and more for all segments of the fishing market. Saltwater flats fishing is not just a fly fishing thing anymore and add to the mix destinations like Alaska, South America, Africa and Australia and there is a very strong demand for good quality travel rods in spin and cast. Travelling anglers require flexibility in their equipment - rods that will handle a broad range of fishing challenges like ultra-lite trout and crappie action in freshwater to snook and tarpon fishing on saltwater flats. As more exotic fishing destinations are discovered, we find ourselves further and further afield. Most anglers would rather lose their clothing than their equipment. You can always fish in the pants and shirt you wore on the plane. If it’s too hot, make yourself some cut-offs and you can get by just fine, but you bought that high performance rod just for this trip, so having it arrive two days late - or not at all - is NOT an option. The last thing you want to lose on any fishing expedition is your rods. Fly anglers are taking spin or cast back-up rods for windy, tough casting days and serious all tackle anglers are discovering the advantage of “carrying on” pack rods. It’s systems management for the travelling sport fisher and we provide the rods. Escape travel rods are all three-piece. Each rod has very specific line and lure ratings which, unique to the Escape Series include definitive descriptions of what type of spin or cast rod each are as well as the optimum line recommended, for example: the ETR75-3 ULS 4 is an Escape Travel Rod, 75” in length, 3-piece configuration, Ultra Light Spin with an optimal line rating of 4-pound test. Guides are Fuji “Alconite” and handles feature cork grips with fi xed reel seats. Each rod comes in a handsome, protective rod sock and travel case.

SALTWATER SPINNING RODS You may have noticed that fishing rods tend to look like the fish they’re built to pursue. Trout rods are long and sleek. Bass rods, short and powerful. And saltwater rods are, well, to see this analogy through you’ll have to turn the pages. From looking at everyone else’s rods, it would seem that they think fish in the ocean are big, slow, mule-headed oafs. But we know better. Our saltwater rods represent what the fish in the ocean are truly like. Sure, our rods are big, but they’re sleek too. Powerful. Fast. Like a tuna. Our saltwater rods. designed with the help of seasoned pros on both coasts, are lighter, tougher and more sensitive than anything else you’ll cast into the salt. If you want to catch big, dull fish, stick with one of those other rods. If you want to catch big, fast, powerful fish, try one of ours.

SALTWATER SPINNING RODS · PRO GREEN SERIES The Pro Green Series is a special set of inshore saltwater rods created for anglers preferring to fish small jigs, soft plastics and any number of artificial baits, including topwaters for a myriad of saltwater species. A great choice for school-sized blues and stripers along the Atlantic Coast as well as redfish, seatrout, permit, bonefish, snook and small tarpon in Florida and the Gulf coast, these rods

PRO GREEN

There are three different power-ratings and three different rod lengths offered to cover the variety of water depths and conditions each region offers. They aren’t meant to replace the softer, more delicate action of the popping rod, but to give the angler an option for aggressively fishing artificials. The faster actions of the Pro Green Series give wading and boat anglers more positive line and lure control. Designed to create quick, accurate “snap casts” to visible targets or long prospecting casts where covering water is more important, these rods have powerful butt sections to move big fish with ease and are still light enough to fish them all day long with minimal fatigue.

LENGTH: 6’ 10” | POWER: 3 | PIECES: 1 | SPINNING Th is rod is designed to allow short, accurate casts in and around cover, especially the mangroves where you need to keep the bait under overhanging limbs, but it’s a little more powerful for larger baits, heavier line and larger fish. Model

GREENWATER RODS

Popping to casting, finesse to brute strength, if you fish the “skinny” water then you’re the perfect candidate for our Greenwater rods. We spent a lot of time talking to flats guides and worked closely with our dealers and field staff in the development of this series of shallow water rods (in some cases, not-so-shallow for a few critters). LENGTH: 7’ 6” | POWER: 1 | PIECES: 2 | SPINNING Designed for long casts and excellent line and lure control without sacrificing weight or performance, and talk about sensitive... you’ll set the hook on everything, including some nice big reds and specks, we hope! LIVE BAIT

LIVE BAIT RODS

If you currently fish a Popping rod, but want to move into a little deeper water, chasing larger fish with heavier line, these live bait rods are the answer. Powerful enough to handle a multitude of saltwater situations—from bluewater to bays, mangrove-laced coves to open flats—they are lightweight, precision fishing tools. Whether you’re tossing pinfish to tarpon or dropping jigs around a shipwreck for small grouper, you’ll find these rods surprisingly powerful and as tough and durable as they come. They’re extremely versatile, giving you the option to pitch live bait, cut bait, lures and leadhead jigs, and they’re especially effective around boat docks, bridges or heavy cover in the back country.

LENGTH: 7’ | POWER: 4 | PIECES: 1 | SPINNING Designed to fish up to 20-pound line and up to 2-ounce lures or live bait, this is one powerful spinning rod. It’s strong enough to handle tarpon and other oversized creatures, and especially good for catching small grouper or snapper. It has large-diameter guides for fishing heavier line and a fairly stiff tip, making it a powerful fish-fighting tool that is surprisingly light. Model GL2

ROD CARE

G.LOOMIS LIMITED LIFETIME WARRANTY

WARRANTY PERIOD Rods

Shimano warrants to the original owner that G.Loomis rods are free from defects in materials and workmanship under normal conditions and reasonable use for the lifetime of the original owner.

TIPS

Here are a few tips for keeping your rod performing at the highest level for many years to come. • Store our rod in its case, out of the sun and weather. Make sure it’s completely dry before storing. • Dogs love to chew on the cork, and so do children, well it’s better to just keep it away from both. • Lubricate reel seats with a small amount of WD40®or similar corrosion inhibitor. • To avoid added stress on the rod it’s best to disassemble it when bushwhacking and when entering boats and cars. • Never reel weights or baits all the way to the rod tip. Th is may damage the tip-top or fracture the tip of the blank. • Always follow the line rating for your rod. Exceeding the line rating is like ‘red lining’ your car’s engine: it may cause the rod to fail. • To free a snag, point the rod tip directly at the snag area and pull back along the axis of the rod, putting the stress on the reel instead of the rod. Th is will either dislodge the snag or break your leader, but your rod will be saved. Never attempt to free a snag with your rod tip, unless your lure costs over £50. • Have fun, after all you’re fishing.

Reels and others

Shimano warrants to the original owner that G.Loomis reels, luggage, clothing, waders and accessories are free from defects in materials and workmanship under normal conditions and reasonable use for the period of two years from the date of original purchase.

WARRANTY EXCLUSIONS This warranty does not cover:

· the G.Loomis Product if it has been modified or repaired by a person other than an authorized G.Loomis dealer; · the G.Loomis Product if it has been used for rental or commercial purposes; · damage resulting from causes other than defects in materials and workmanship, including but not limited to accident, abuse, misuse, neglect, improper assembly, improper repair, improper maintenance, alteration, modification or other abnormal, excessive or improper use; · damage occurring during shipment of the G.Loomis Product; · products that are not manufactured under the G.Loomis brand (whether or not packaged or sold with the G.Loomis Product at the time of purchase); and · damage resulting from use of products which are defective or incompatible with the G.Loomis Product; · damage resulting from normal wear and tear, including but not limited to damage or deterioration to the surface finish, aesthetics or appearance of the G.Loomis Product (f.e. cork material).

POWERZONE Never over-stress your rod in one spot. Th is often happens when setting the hook, playing a fish close to the boat or shore, or dead lifting a fish into the boat. Bending the tip at a severe angle in this manner transfers all the stress to a single area, potentially causing the blank to fail. Rods are designed to handle stress over the entire length of the blank and should be flexed with this in mind.
