On behalf of Shelly, Erika and myself as well our guest consignors Clint Oxtoby and Martin Penfold, I would like to welcome you and thank you for reading through and evaluating this year’s production of Angus seed stock. Our family has been strictly and only involved in the Black Angus breed for over 60 years and feel we can offer a great deal of realistic experience along with a down to earth approach that you may not obtain elsewhere. We are very happy with this set of cattle that will be offered to you on Monday April 7th. They are honest middle of the road cattle that have maternal backing yet are grown out respectfully in order not to hurt their long term health but yet one can understand where they may belong in your program whether you want a heifer bull or a larger high performance bull that will add pay weight to your calf crop. We try to provide as much information as we can but if you don’t see it in our book please ask as we will try to find an answer for you if we can. These bulls are athletic and great haired as you can see in their pictures. They will all be semen evaluated before the sale and be guaranteed to breed in their first year of service. We have three new sire groups this year, the Sankey’s Laramie’s, Soo Line Kodiak’s and the Eastondale All The Way’s. All three groups look very good in our minds and compliment the sires we have used in the past like the Duration’s, the Max’s and the Main Events. The select offering of females is right from the top end of the female replacement pen with some great cow families represented, Forever Lady’s, Rosebud’s, Cassie’s, and Bonnie Lady’s. If you have been a customer of ours before and we do deal with a large number of repeat customers we thank you and value your confidence in our program and look forward to continuing to do business with you. Welcome to the Eastondale Angus Bull Sale along with their consignors Rockin Ox and Oakwood Grange a top of the line set of Angus genetics will be offered. These bulls are impressive as they are thick, stout bulls that have great coats of hair, excellent feet and are sound athletic bulls that will serve you well. This long standing Angus program has continues to step up and select bulls back by great cow families, Sooline Kodiak comes from perhaps Geis’ strongest cow family and currently still serving as a donor cow for Brooking and Blairs. The Laramie bull was selected out of Denver as a stall mate to Justified who is also making his mark. These two sires are leaving calves that you will find easily in this catalogue. As well the two Cedar bulls have sons in the sale that are easy to find and appreciated by many. We have All The Way (full brother to Breakaway) and they are powerful and impressive. Once again the Main Event progeny have risen to the top and will impress. They were the High Selling Sire group last year. In 2012, Erika and I travelled to Denver for the Stock Show. While we were there and going through the cattle we came across Laramie and were instantly intrigued. As a 10 month old calf he showed great character, hair coat with that little extra bit of bone. His pedigree comes as an outcross for Canada this bull really has our attention as he has really delivered in his first set of calves. Again he shows a easy calving tabulation with strong growth and a sensible Milk EPD. In the spring of 2011 we were in search of a herdbull that we could use on our heifers but continue our program towards our goals. Stemming from a very good cow family, Cedar’s dam and granddam boasted all that we like to see in a cow. We have calved his first daughters this spring and we are extremely happy with them as we are with the set of sons we have in the sale this year. We lost Cedar last winter so this will be his last calves to be had.

We have watched and studied the Kodiak bull and his breeding success over the years and knew when the right cow combination came up we would have to have it. Disputes: In case of disputes, bidding will be reopened between the parties involved. If no further bid is made, the buyer will be the person from whom the auctioneer accepted the last bid. The auctioneer’s decision in such matters is final. Purchaser’s Risk: Each animal becomes the risk of the purchaser as soon as sold. Animals will be cared for at the purchaser’s risk for a reasonable length of time. Announcements: Errors discovered in the catalogue will be corrected by announcements from the auction stand at sale time and such corrections will take precedence over the printed matter in the catalogue. Buyers are cautioned to pay close attention to announcements. Certificate of registry: Each animal will carry papers issued by the Canadian Angus Association. A certificate of registry duly transferred will be furnished to the buyers for each animal after settlement has been made. Breeders Guarantee, bulls: Should any bull (14) fourteen months of age or over, fail to prove a breeder after being used on cows known to be breeders, the matter shall be reported in writing to the seller within (6) six months following date of purchase or (6) six months after the bull has reached (14) fourteen months of age. The seller will then have the right and privilege of (6) six months to prove the bull a breeder. No guarantee is given that semen collected from the bull will freeze. In no event shall the seller be responsible for more than the purchase price. The seller is not responsible for damage caused by foreign bodies after the animal has been sold nor for sickness not apparent at sale time. Exception guarantee: In cases where the animal was subjected to hormonal or surgical reproduction techniques after the sale, this guarantee shall be null and void. Settlement: Transportation charges on animals returned to the seller are for account of the purchaser. No incidental expenses such as feed, care, A.I., signing fees, interest, veterinary charges, etc., will be charged by either party when making settlement. If the seller is successful in proving the animal in question to be a breeder, the said animal will be reclaimed by the purchaser at his expense. Should the seller fail to prove the animal a breeder, then the buyer is guaranteed a satisfactory replacement F.O.B. ranch or location of origin or a refund of the actual price. Should a dispute arise over the quality of the replacement animal, the Sale Management will appoint a mediator. Accidents: Although every precaution will be taken to protect the safety and comfort of buyers, neither the sales manager, auctioneer, or sellers assume any responsibility in this matter and disclaim any liability, legal or otherwise, in the event of accident or loss of property. Mail or telephone bids: Bidders unable to attend the sale may phone or mail their bids and instructions to the sale manager, auctioneer, or special representatives. Bids must be received in sufficient time prior to the sale. Rights and obligatations: The above terms and conditions of the sale shall continue a contract between the buyer and the seller and be equally binding to both. Resale of animals following purchase in this sale shall constitute a separate transaction which is not covered by the terms and conditions of this sale.
