Networking There is a science behind building your network – for some it comes naturally and for others it takes a bit more work. But one thing’s for certain: you don’t have to be the world’s biggest extrovert to be an expert networker. Practice these tips to become a networking pro! Be genuine and authentic. Networking is about building relationships. Remember, you are asking for information, not a job. Start with people you know, then expand to their acquaintances and finally strangers, after the process becomes second nature. Specifically communicate to your contacts the type of job or profession you are seeking. Ask open-ended questions. Whenever possible, network in person. As you ask people to help you, remember to ask them how you can help them as well.
