Karen McNanna is in her second year as the women’s basketball secretary at Seton Hall and her 15th year as a member of the athletics department. McNanna began her employment at the univeristy in 1990, and in 1995 she was hired by Sue Regan as a coaches’ secretary.

McNanna resides in Springfield, N.J., with her husband, Richard. McNanna’s children, Richard and Courtney, are both graduates of Seton Hall.

THIRD SEASON

Margerrite Abdelkodoos joined the Seton Hall athletics department in August 2011 as assistant athletic trainer. She is the primary trainer for the women’s basketball and tennis programs. In addition, Abdelkodoos will help coordinate and provide medical services for all the rest of the Pirates’ programs.

PIRATE PROFILES

Abdelkodoos was most recently an assistant athletic trainer at Lafayette College in Easton, Pa. While there, she was responsible for the men’s basketball, football, baseball, and field hockey programs. Abdelkodoos received her Master’s in Athletic Training from Seton Hall from 2008, graduating with honors. While attending graduate school at the University, she was a graduate assistant in the sports medicine office and was a student worker assigned to the men’s basketball program. ATHLETIC TRAINER

In 2006, Abdelkodoos earned a Bachelor’s in Biomedical Engineering from Stevens Institute of Technology in Hoboken, N.J. During her time as a student, she gained experience working with several local universities, high schools, camps, and rehab centers.

Mike Kowalsky was promoted to Associate Director of Athletics Communications after spending five years as Assistant Director. He serves as the primary media contact for the Pirates’ women’s basketball, volleyball, and softball programs. Kowalsky spent two years as an intern at Seton Hall before being retained for his fulltime position in 2008. He serves as the primary media contact for the Pirates’ softball, men’s soccer, cross country, and tennis programs.

Since arriving in South Orange, Kowalsky has volunteered at the 2007 NCAA Men’s Basketball East Regional in East Rutherford, N.J. and was a media coordinator at the 2011 NCAA Men’s Basketball East Regional in Newark, N.J. He is also an active member of CoSIDA. Kowalsky graduated with a degree in sport management from SUNY Cortland in 2006, where he served as an event manager and sports information assistant. A native of Sauquoit, N.Y., he now resides East Rutherford, N.J. with his fiancée Stephanie. They have two cats, London and Chelsea.
