Follow these steps to help you!

BE IN CONTROL 1. Switch off ‘Safari’ (teach your child to use the ‘Mobicip’ app which is suitable for young children)
MAKE YOUR CHOICES 1. Click on ‘Location Services’ (within ‘Settings’ and then ‘Restrictions’)

2. Look at the list of apps which use the device’s location.
2. FaceTime Decide whether you’re happy or not for your child to use ‘FaceTime’ (a videocalling app)
Are you happy for these apps to know exactly where your child is? It would be a good idea to switch most off!
3. Click on ‘Don’t Allow Changes’ so that new apps cannot use your child’s location.
3. Switch off ‘iTunes Store’ so that you avoid a situation where your child can download content (such as films) through this app

6 3. Open the ‘Settings’ app 4. Click on ‘General’, then ‘Restrictions’ 5. Choose ‘Enable Restrictions’ 4
6. Choose a passcode (one that your child won’t know!)
4. Are you happy for your child to download apps from the ‘App Store’? If you want to stay in control, turn this option off! 5. Switch off ‘Deleting Apps’ so that your child cannot delete apps. 6. Switch off ‘In-App Purchases’ (IMPORTANT!) This will prevent your child from being able to purchase within apps (especially games). 7. Decide which media and apps you are happy for your child to see/use. Use the age restrictions to help you!
7 4. Switch off ‘Multiplayer Games’ (this will prevent your child from playing games against friends and strangers from across the world!)

5. Switch off ‘Adding Friends’ for the same reason!

6. Go to www.mobicip.com to register an account, and to control your child’s online activity.

PROTECT YOUR CHILD It is ESSENTIAL that you teach your child to protect personal information, including their name, age, address, school, clubs and passwords! ** Do NOT allow them to use their real name as their usernames! **
