SUMMER ’22 UPDATE

SUMMER OF IMPACT We just wrapped an inspiring summer full of programs. Thanks to your support, over 600 young leaders came together from DC to Dubai to build community, engage in dialogue, and take action. We’re so proud of them—and excited to share highlights below. MEET IN CYPRUS MULTINATIONAL Three dozen Israeli, Palestinian, and Jordanian Seeds attended a weeklong dialogue-centric program in Cyprus—our first cross-border meeting of youth since the pandemic started. Participants explored conflict through personal, cultural, and national identities and built solidarity across lines of division.

SEEDS OF PEACE CAMP High school students from Maine (Session 1) and across the US (Session 2) came together at Camp to develop their understanding of themselves, one another, and the change they want to make in their communities.

“Some of the tools we’ve learned have been useful in planning out how to create change. Active listening, for example, has been a really good skill that was reinforced here at Camp. Same with exercise in how to think out problems as a group and build solutions.” – Ryan, 2022 Camper

GATHER SUMMIT In the desert of Morocco, the GATHER Summit convened nearly 50 Seeds, Fellows and other adult changemakers from around the world, strengthening a powerful community committed to social change. Reflecting on what keeps them walking this long and often arduous path, summit participants dedicated time to health and well-being amid workshops on networking and organizing. “The GATHER Summit gave me a strong and vital network of like-minded people.” – Arnon, Summit Participant KITNAY DUUR, KITNAY PAAS Over 40 rising filmmakers from India and Pakistan worked together virtually for nearly two years to create films highlighting shared culture and tradition, then met in Dubai to celebrate their work. These eight heartwarming, thought-provoking films and the cross-border partnerships behind them were made possible by the US General Consulate Karachi and US General Consulate Mumbai. GLOBAL INSTITUTE This advocacy and policy intensive brought young Seeds of Peace alumni from across the globe to Washington, DC. After two weeks of lobbying on Capitol Hill and engaging with think tanks and dignitaries, participants spoke with hope and confidence about their ability to advocate for change in their own countries.
