Bishop’s Epistle September 3, 2017 DON’T GET TIRED OF WAITING ON GOD; HE’S ALWAYS ON TIME! (Exodus 32:1-29) Sons and Daughters of My flock, Grace to You! God leads me to write this love Epistle to you to encourage you to hold firm to your faith in God, He will come at the right time! This is the message in EXODUS Chapter 32:1-29. Verse 1 says: “Now when the people saw that Moses delayed his coming down from the mountain, the people gathered together to Aaron, and said to him. “Come make us gods that shall go before us; for as this Moses…we do not know what has become of him.” One of the most difficult challenges in living for God is knowing when to act and when to wait. We all abhor lack of courage and boldness. But equally so, we are disturbed by the saints who take things in their own hands and act without guidance from the Lord. The prayerful secret is to discover how to act in God’s timing, on His power, and under His guidance. And that requires waiting for the Lord. Most saints find waiting very difficult. But God directs me to tell you to stand fast in the FAITH! The Israelites were tired of waiting on Moses. He had been on Mount Sanai for 40 days. “What are we waiting for? they asked. Who is this tyrant of Sanai who makes us wait? And where is the Moses who spend his time praying on the mountain? Other nations have gods whom they can see and touch; our god is an invisible, thundering power. We want a god to live on our level, go before us, and lead us to our destination when we want it. We are tired of waiting around!” Without a doubt, I say that impatience is the illegitimate child of faithlessness and willfulness. The golden calf for the Israelites was the result. Anything the saints do without waiting for God’s guidance and timing becomes a golden calf. All that God had done for the people of Israel had been forgotten in their impatience. What about you? The same is true for us. We overlook the fact that God has promptly met our needs and graciously denied any wants that would hurt us. I have discovered over the years that the full-time vocation of holy living is to seek and know the Lord and His will and act on His timing, strategy and power.
