WE ARE FIRM IN FAITH, STRENGTHENED IN FELLOWSHIP, UNITED IN PRAISE!

Bishop’s Epistle April 1, 2018 THE POWER OF JESUS’ RESURRECTION IN THE SAINTS Sons and Daughters of my flock,

The Call to Worship.......................................Lyceum Council of Elders

Blessed Resurrection Day Celebration! The Bible encourages the saints: “For if we have been united together in the likeness of His death, certainly we also shall be in the likeness of His resurrection.” (Romans 6:5)

Diaconates Ministry Leading the Worship

The power of the resurrection is a personal regeneration for the saints. We were drawn to Christ by His power and share in His resurrection. Resurrection spells Regeneration. The two things must be kept together are the new world and the new person. Resurrection is not just a passport to heaven, but a power to change us now. It is a present gift, not wistful longing. “To know Christ and the power of His resurrection” - the two are the same. To know Christ Jesus today is to come under the influence of the same power that raised Him from the dead. All life is meant to be a resurrectional tide full of perpetual renewal. Christ’s mission is to change us and make us like Himself with our cooperation and with His blessed Word. What a cruel thing an example is without the power to live it. Christ Jesus is the best of all examples, but more than that, He can come within us and give us His own Spirit to fulfill the example. The result is that as we actually become like Him, we are able to do the things He did and, most of all, we are able to love as He loved. The resurrection is the right angle where all disillusionment, discouragement and disappointment with life, people and ourselves is met with power to change us and give us a new beginning. “The resurrection means to Christians that the worst has been met and has been conquered. This puts an ultimate optimism at the center of things. No wonder the Christian in the midst of the decaying order is no pessimist. He/ she has solid grounds for his/her optimism. He has gotten hold of unconquered and unconquerable Life!” says E Stanley Jones. So, say I! Amen Until He Comes, I Am Serving Christ Joyfully
